Abstract

Penelitian ini terfokus pada pemanfaatan bottom ash sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan paving geopolimer. Selain itu digunakan SCBA (Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash) sebagai sumber silika aktif untuk menambah kandungan silika pada bottom ash. Agregat atau filler menggunakan abu batu, sedangkan untuk binder (pengikat) menggunakan larutan alkali aktifator. Benda uji berupa balok paving dengan dimensi (20x10x8) cm. Mix design yang dipakai antara lain perbandingan berat agregat dengan pasta adalah 65:35, perbandingan berat bottom ash dengan alkali sebesar 65:35, alkali aktifator dibuat dengan perbandingan NaOH 14 M dengan Na2SiO3 sebesar1:2.5, kemudian ditambah air 5/35 bagian dari berat alkali atau 8.33% dari berat bottom ash. Variabel berupa penambahan berat SCBA pada paving sebesar 0%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% dan 35%. Hasil dari analisa maksimal diperoleh pada paving dengan penambahan berat SCBA 0%, dengan hasil kuat tekan sebesar 11.60 MPa, ketahanan aus 1.050 mm/menit, dan resapan air sebesar 10.58%. Sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan akhir bahwa paving geopolimer tidak memenuhi persyaratan standar paving berdasarkan SNI 03-0691-1996. Tetapi memenuhi syarat untuk dijadikan bata sebagai pasangan dinding kelas I berdasarkan SNI 03-0349-1989. ======================================================================================================================== This research focused on utilization of bottom ash as the basic material that used for geopolymer paving. In addition to added SCBA (Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash) was applied as an active silica source for bottom ash. Stone ash were used as fillers. Alkalin activator was mix with the binders and fillers to start geopolymer reaction. The speciment was paving blocks with dimension of (20x10x8) cm. The weight ratio of aggregate to pasta was 65:35. The weight ratio of bottom ash to alkalin was 65:35. NaOH 14 M and Na2SiO3 were applied as an alkalin activator with ratio of 1:2.5. Additional the water was added of 5/35 parts from alkalin weight or 8.33% from the binder weight. SCBA weight was varied of 0%,15%,20%,25%,30% and 35% to replace the bottom ash weight. The maximum paving was shown by the mixture with 0% SCBA with compressive strength was 11.60 MPa, abrasive strength was 1.050 mm/minute, and water absorbtion is 10.58%. So the final result is the geopolymer paving didn’t appropriate the standard requirements of paving based SNI 03-0691-1996. It is appropriated for use as the brick for the wall set grade I based SNI 03-0349-1989.
