Abstract

Sistem informasi sudah menjadi kebutuhan dalam dunia
pendidikan untuk mendukung proses belajar mengajar di
perguruan tinggi. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)
merupakan perguruan tinggi yang menerapkan sistem
informasi, salah satunya Sistem Informasi Akademik ITS. ITS
mengandalkan sistem ini untuk mendukung berjalannya
kegiatan akademik. Pengguna Sistem Informasi Akademik ITS
mencapai lebih dari 22 ribu orang yang terdiri dari
mahasiswa, dosen, maupun karyawan.
Melihat besarnya peran Sistem Informasi Akademik ITS, maka
perlu dilakukan evaluasi usability untuk memastikan sistem
dapat mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan. Evaluasi usability
penting dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas sebuah sistem
tersebut. Evaluasi dilakukan berdasarkan Model usability
Nielsen yang memiliki lima variabel yaitu efisiensi,
learnability, memorability, kesalahan, serta kepuasan.
Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pengumpulan data melalui
kuisioner yang disebar kepada 425 mahasiwa ITS program
sarjana dan diploma di lima fakultas. Selanjutnya dilakukan
pengolahan data dengan teknik Structural Equation Modelling
(SEM). Hasil dari tugas akhir ini menyatakan bahwa tiga hipotesis
dapat diterima dan tujuh hipotesis tidak dapat diterima.
Kepuasan pengguna terhadap usability Sistem Informasi
Akademik ITS dipengaruhi oleh kemudahan sistem untuk
diingat, tingkat kesalahan yang dialami, dan kecepatan dalam
mencari informasi. Kemudahan sistem untuk diingat
dipengaruhi oleh kecepatan dalam menemukan informasi yang
diinginkan. Sementara tingkat kesalahan yang dialami
dipengaruhi oleh kemudahan sistem untuk dipelajari dan
diingat. Serta kemudahan sistem untuk dipelajari dipengaruhi
oleh kecepatan dalam mencari informasi.

Information systems have become a necessity in the world of
education to support the teaching and learning process.
Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) is an
university that apply information systems, one of them is ITS
Academic Information System. ITS relies on this system to
support the passage of the academic activities. ITS Academic
Information System users reached more than 22 thousands
people consisting of students, lecturer, and employees.
Seeing the importance of the role of ITS Academic Information
System, it is necessary to perform usability evaluation to
ensure the system can achieve the expected goals. Usability
evaluation is important to checking the quality the system. The
evaluation is conducted based on Nielsen usability model that
has five variables, namely efficiency, learnability,
memorability, errors, and satisfaction. Evaluation is done by
collecting data through questionnaires that were distributed to
425 students of ITS bachelor and diploma programs in five
faculties. Furthermore, the data processing is done by using
Structural Equation Modelling (SEM).
Results of this final project states that three hypothesis can be
accepted and seven hypothesis can’t be accepted. Users
satisfaction about usability of ITS Academic Information System is influenced by memorability of the system, the level of
error encountered, and the information search speed.
Memorability of the system is influenced by information
search speed. The level of error encountered is influenced by
learnability and memorability of the system. Then,
learnability of the system is influenced by the information
search speed.
