Abstract
Jawa Timur merupakan provinsi yang mempunyai industri cukup banyak yang tersebar di
berbagai wilayah. Transportasi barang di Provinsi Jawa Timur masih menggunakan angkutan
truk melalui jalan raya untuk menuju ke pelabuhan atau sebaliknya. Seiring dengan
bertambahnya volume barang, dikhawatirkan akan menambah beban jalan yang
mengakibatkan meningkatnya biaya pemeliharaan, perawatan jalan serta kemacetan sehingga
biaya transportasi tinggi. Tujuan penelitian dalam tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengurangi
biaya transportasi bagi pengirim barang dengan menerapkan konsep Dry Port. Sehingga
nantinya kepadatan ruas jalan tertentu dapat berkurang dan biaya transportasinya dapat
ditekan. Pada penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengiriman FCL (Full Container Load) dan LCL
(Less Container Load), baik itu pengiriman langsung menuju pelabuhan atau melalui dry port.
Penentuan lokasi dry port pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode center of gravity.
Perhitungan dengan menggunakan metode center of gravity akan didapatkan titik lokasi dry
port yang bisa mengurangi biaya logistik untuk pengiriman barang LCL antara 10% sampai
30%. Sedangkan untuk pengiriman FCL, biaya pengirimannya akan lebih murah ketika
pengirimannya langsung menuju ke pelabuhan dari pada melalui dry port. Sehingga kedua
lokasi tersebut bisa melayani angkutan barang dari timur dan barat Provinsi Jawa Timur.

East Java is the province that has quite a lot of industry that spread all over the
regions. Transportation of goods in East Java still uses the trucking by road to get to the port
or vice versa. Along with the increase in the volume of goods, it is feared will add the burden
of road that lead the increasing of maintenance costs, road maintenance and congestion so that
high transportation costs. The aim of research in this final project is to reduce transportation
costs for shippers by implementing the concept of Dry Port. So that the density of certain
roads can be reduced and the cost of transportation can be suppressed. In this study focused
on FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less Container Load) shipments, either directly to
the port of shipment or through the Dry Port. Determining the location of Dry Port in this
study using the Center of Gravity. The result using the method Center of Gravity earned point
location can reduce logistics costs for freight LCL (Less Container Load) between 10% to
30%. While for the delivery of FCL, it is charged fee it would be cheaper when heading
straight for the delivery to the port of on through dry port. So that both locations can serve the
transportation of goods from the east and west of East Java Province.
