Abstract

Pengujian laJu perambatan retak tunggal dan cabang pada pelat boiler dilakukan untuk mengetahui karateristik perambatan retak tunggal dan cabang. Laju perambatan retak kedua macam retak tunggal dan cabang diuji dengan uji jattgue pada material high tensile SA 516 I 70 dengan metode compact tension, berdasarkan standar ASTM 1994. Hasil pengujian berupa data pertambahan panjang retak (da) dan jumlah cycle (N). Analisa perambatan menggunakan grafik da/dN Vs L1K untuk semua specimen uji. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa retak tunggal adalah cacat yang berbahaya, namun apabila retak cabang dengan sudut retak > 60" laju perambatan retak mendekati laju perambatan retak tunggal seperti retak cabang 4.25 mm. ======================================================================================================================== The experiment of crack growth about single and branching crack for boiler plate to know characteristic growth single and branching crack. The crack growth both single and branching crack experiment uses fatigue method for high tensile material SA 516/70 with compact tension on based ASTM standart 1994. The result is adding length (da) and sum of cycle (N), analyst use da/dN Vs ~K scatter chart with comparison crack growth each specimens. The result form experiment shown single crack is most danger defect, but if the branching crack with angle > 60° crack growth appear like single crack growth such as 4.25 mm for braching crack.
