Abstract
Penggunaan pompa di dunia industri memiliki peran penting.
Pompa digunakan untuk mengatasi perbedaan energi yang
diperlukan untuk memindahkan fluida akibat dari perbedaan
tekanan, perbedaan ketinggian, dan gesekan pada sistem
perpipaan. Saat ini hampir 80% pompa sentrifugal digunakan
dalam industri proses. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui
apakah pengaruh outlet angle impeller pompa terhadap efisiensi
kerja pompa serta bagaimana menggambarkan kurva karakteristik
dan menentukan BEP (Best Efficiency Point).
Pengujian menggunakan impeller backward 6 sudu dengan
diameter inner 4 cm dan diameter outer 12 cm. Impeller memiliki
inlet blade angle (β1) 20° dan variasi outlet blade angle (β2) 10°,
20°, 30°, 40°, dan 50°. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan
menggunakan tiga metode, yaitu eksperimen, perhitungan teoritis
segitiga kecepatan, dan teoritis dengan menyertakan slip factors.
Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah dengan
meningkatnya outlet blade angle akan menaikan nilai head.
Kenaikan outlet blade angle juga akan menurunkan nilai BEP ke
debit yang lebih rendah dan secara umum akan menurunkan nilai
efisiensi. Berdasarkan hasil eksperimen, secara umum impeller
dengan outlet blade angle (β2) 20° memiliki nilai efisiensi
maksimum paling tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini juga dapat
memprediksi head aktual dengan menggunakan analisis head
teoritis yang melibatkan slip factor.

The use of the pump in the industrial world has an important
role. Pumps are used to overcome the difference in the energy
required to move the fluid as a result of pressure differences, the
difference in height, and friction in piping systems. Today almost
80% of centrifugal pumps used in industrial processes. This study
was conducted to determine whether the effect of outlet angle
pump impeller on the efficiency of the pump work and how to
describe the characteristic curve and determine the BEP (Best
Efficiency Point) .
Tests using backward impeller 6 blade with inner diameter of
4 cm and outter diameter 12 cm. Impeller has a inlet blade angle
(β1) 20° and variations of outlet blade angle (β2) 10°, 20°, 30°, 40°,
and 50°. This research was conducted using three methods,
namely experimental, theoretical calculations using a triangular
speed, and theoretical include slip factors.
The results obtained from this study is the rising blade outlet
angle will increase the value of the head. The increase in outlet
blade angle will also reduce the value of BEP to lower flow and
generally will decrease the value of efficiency. Based on the
experimental results, generally impeller with outlet blade angle
(β2) 20° has the highest value of maximum efficiency. Results of
this research can also predict the actual head using head
theoretical analysis include slip factor.
