Abstract

========== A diterpenoid phenolic, nimbiol (1), and a terpenoid glycoside, β-sitosterol- 3-O-glycoside (2) had been isolated from methanol extract of Azadirachta indica stem bark. The two compounds were obtained by fractionation using vacuum liquid chromatography methode and the structures were elucidated by Infra Red and Nuclear Magnetig Resonance spectroscopy. Methanol extract and nimbiol (1) has lower inhibition activity of α-glycosidase enzyme compare with acarbose (48), meanwhile compound (2) was inactive.
