Abstract
Perkembangan seni lukis di era modern menghasilkan bermacam karya
sehingga menimbulkan daya tarik baru bagi masyarakat yang kurang pengetahuan
dalam bidang ini, termasuk di kota surabaya. berdasarkan hal tersebut seni lukis tidak
lagi dipandang dari segi nilai estetika saja, tetapi juga memberikan nilai ekonomis
bagi senimannya. Namun perkembangan ini kurang didukung dengan adanya wadah
yang representatif sebagai penunjang kegiatan seniman. studi ini bertujuan untuk
mewujudkan ruang bagi seniman lukis dalam menghasilkan, memamerkan, dan
menjual karyanya serta bagi masyarakat sebagai sarana meningkatkan pengetahuan
serta ketertarikan mereka. Metode yang digunakan pada studi ini dalam prosesnya
akan dihasilkan bangunan memiliki keseimbangan antara citra dan fungsinya. Desain
yang dihasilkan berupa galeri kreatif seni lukis yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai
media untuk berkarya, memamerkan, serta menjual namun juga penambahan fungsi
sebagai sarana yang rekreatif dan edukatif di kota Surabaya

The development of painting in modern era produced various artworks that
evoke a new attraction for society who are less knowledge in arts, including city of
Surabaya. Therefore, art is no longer seen from the perspective of aesthetic only but
also provide economic value for the artist. However this development is poorly
supported by the representative space for the artist’s activities. This study aims to
create a space for painting artists to produce, exhibit and sell works as well as for
society as a means of increasing their knowledge and self-interest. The method used
in this study will result in the building that has a balance between imagery and
function in the process. The designs are yielded in the form of creative art gallery
which not only serves as a medium to create, exhibit, and sell art works but also
adding a function as a recreational and educational facilities in the city of Surabaya.
