Abstract
Pendidikan merupakan hak bagi seluruh masyarakat yang difasilitasi oleh pemerintah negara. Sebagai negara berkembang, fasilitas pendidikan informal berupa perpustakaan di Indonesia masih jauh tertinggal dibandingkan negara-negara berkembang lainnya. Alhasil minat baca yang dimiliki warganya terbilang rendah. Oleh karena itu perlu ada peningkatan kualitas fasilitas untuk meningkatkan minat masyarakat terutama anak-anak. Hal ini dikarenakan anak-anak merupakan masa dimana seluruh kebiasaan baik dapat diserap dengan mudah. Dengan adanya perpustakaan anak diharapkan anak-anak Indonesia dapat tumbuh menjadi generasi penerus bangsa yang memajukan negaranya. Agar perpustakaan anak dapat berfungsi dengan baik, maka dalam proses desainnya diperlukan konsep yang sesuai untuk perilaku anak-anak. Dimana anak memperoleh kenyamanan secara psikologi dan visual serta terjamin keamanannya dalam melakukan aktivitas. ========== Education is one of citizen’s rights which facilitate by the government. As one
of the developing country, Indonesian informal education facility i.e library, still far
left behind than other countries. Which effect in citizen’s low interest in books and
knowledge. Therefore increasing the quality of this facility is a must, in order to
increasing the citizen’s especially children interest. Considering that children is a
phase where all the good habits can easily absorbed. The existence of this children’s
library expect to give effect so they can grow become the golden generation for this
country. In order to work greatly as the designer expected, this children’s library need
concepts which suitable with children’s behavior. Where children can feel
comfortable either psychologically and visually, and their safety and security
guaranteed. As it known that children are unique client due to their special treatment
need.
