Abstract
Penyusunan tugas akhir ini berangkat dari sebuah adanya isu di kota Gresik yang
dikenal sebagai Kota Industri dan Kota Santri. Seiring berjalannya waktu dan semakin
banyaknya Industri di kota Gresik menyebabkan budaya santri di kota Gresik semakin
terkikis. Sehingga kota Gresik hanya dijadikan sebagai sebuah tempat penyimpanan
artefak Islam semata dan lebih terkenal dengan predikat Kota Industri. Permasalahan
inilah yang harus diselesaikan agar kota Gresik menjadi kota Industri yang sehat,
sekaligus menjadi kota dengan budaya santri yang masih melekat dan menjadi kebangaan
kota Gresik.
Perancang menggunakan tahapan proses desain dengan acuan dari metode desain
yang diajukan oleh Donna P.Duerk dalam bukunya “Architectural Programming:
Information Management for Design”. Maka untuk menjawab isu permasalahan di atas
perancang mendesain sebuah fasilitas Wisata Religi Kota Gresik yang dapat mewakili
keragaman budaya dan ciri khas kota Gresik. Dalam proses merancang, istilah “religi”
digunakan sebagai pendekatan desain yang meliputi pendekatan hubungan manusia
dengan Tuhan-Nya, hubungan masusia dengan manusia, dan hubungan manusia dengan
alam Semesta.
Hasil rancangan dicapai dengan menyediakan sebuah fasilitas Wisata Religi yang
dapat menyeimbangkan dan menyatukan 3 wisata religi di kota Gresik. Di samping itu
fasilitas ini juga dapat mewadahahi aktivitas masyarakat kota Gresik, antara lain sebagai
sarana edukasi tentang sejarah dan asal-usul makam, pusat Seni dan Budaya Islam di
Kota Gresik, tempat peristirahatan, dan pusat komunitas Islam Kota Gresik.

This project is based on an issue in Gresik town which is labeled as an Industrial
town and also Santri town. Along with rapid industrial development in Gresik town has
eroded the identity of “Santri culture” of Gresik town. Consequently Gresik is only a
town with its Islamic artifact heritage and is more acknowledged as Industrial town.
Therefore, this problem need to be solved by not only improving the image of Gresik
town as a healthy industrial town, but also preserving the Santri culture which shapes the
life of Gresik town.
The designer uses the stages of the design process with the reference of the
proposed design method by Donna P.Duerk in her book “Architectural Programming:
Information Management for Design”. By analyzing the design issue, designing a facility
of Gresik Religious Tourism is proposed which represents cultural diversity and
characteristic town of Gresik. In design process, „religious‟ term is used as design
approach which has three meanings, there are: the oncoming of human‟s relationship with
their God, human‟s relationship with other human and human‟s relationship with the
universe.
the facility of Religious Tourism provides balancing and integrating 3 regilious
tourism places in Gresik. Moreover , this design also facilitates people‟s activity in Gresik
such as, education of the origin of local figure‟s tombs, centre of Islamic Culture and Arts
in Gresik, and also center of Islamic community in Gresik.
