Abstract
Dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan fabrikasi dan
karakterisasi Directional coupler konfigurasi 4×4 susunan planar
dan susunan persegi pada bahan serat optik plastik step index
multimode tipe FD-620-10 dengan panjang kupasan 35 mm, 40
mm, 45 mm, 50 mm dan 55 mm menggunakan pendekatan metode
Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) yang menghasilkan hasil
karakterisasi yang berbeda serta memenuhi standar fabrikasi.
Hasil karakterisasi directional coupler menggunakan BF5R-D1-
N didapatkan bahwa directional coupler dengan susunan persegi
lebih baik dibandingkan dengan susunan planar dalam hal
pembagian daya pada setiap port keluaran. Directional coupler
hasil fabrikasi susunan persegi dengan panjang kupasan 35 mm
dan input pada Port B1 menunjukkan bahwa nilai CR = 0,24 : 0,28
: 0,27 : 0,21 dan Le = -3,39 dB, sedangkan pada port D1
menunjukkan bahwa nilai CR = 0,25 : 0,23 : 0,25 : 0,27 dan Le =
-3,28 dB. Piranti ini paling baik digunakan sebagai pembagi daya
maupun pemecah berkas sehingga selanjutnya dapat digunakan
sebagai piranti dalam sensor.

Research about fabrication and characterization of
directional coupler with configuration of 4 × 4 plastic optical fiber
multimode step index type FD-620-10 has been arranged with
shape of planar and squared used peeling length 35 mm, 40 mm,
45 mm, 50 mm and 55 mm. . The method used in this research is
Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) approximation method which
resulting different characterization result and has complied with
standard fabrication. Characterization of directional coupler
using BF5R-D1-N was found that the directional coupler with a
square arrangement is better than the planar arrangement in the
distribution of power on each output port. Directional coupler
fabrication arrangement results square with peeling length of 35
mm and input on Port B1 shows that the value of CR = 0.24: 0.28:
0.27: 0.21 and Le = -3.39 dB, while at port D1 shows that the value
of CR = 0.25: 0.23: 0.25: 0.27 and Le = -3.28 dB. This tool is best
used as a power divider and the beam splitter that can then be used
as a tool in the sensor.
