Abstract
Dewasa ini kebutuhan akan makanan, minuman, bahan
kimia, obat-obatan maupun produk lainnya menuntut adanya
penukar panas tipe plate heat exchanger.
Data didapatkan dengan melakukan pengujian pada
peralatan sistem refrigerasi cascade menggunakan penukar panas
intermediate tipe plate heat exchanger di laboratorium pendingin
dan pengkondisian udara, dengan menggunakan refrigeran
Musicool 22 di high-stage dan R404A di low-stage. Kemudian
menghidupkan kompresor high-stage dan low-stage sampai
kondisi steady state, lalu mengatur variasi laju pengeluaran kalor
semakin kecil. Hal ini mengakibatkan efek refrigerasi, kapasitas
refrigerasi, dan koefisien prestasi akan semakin naik. Pada
III
variasi kecepatan fan tertinggi 2,8 m/s, coefficient of performance
sistem sebesar 1,035, kapasitas refrigerasi sebesar 1,197 kW, heat
rejection ratio sistem sebesar 1,966, temperatur evaporator LS
sebesar , dan temperatur kabin terendah sebesar
, dan nilai effectiveness alat penukar kalor tipe plate
heat exchanger sebesar 97,81%,.

Nowadays the need for foods, beverages, chemicals,
pharmaceuticals and other products demand a development of the
cooling system that can meet all of these requirements. There is
still a deficit in concentric type heat exchanger tube used in the
previous cascade refrigeration system, in this experimental study
was change a cascade refrigeration system with plate heat
exchangers-type.
Data obtained by performing test from cascade
refrigeration system with intermediate plate heat exchangers-type.
in cooling system and air conditioning laboratory using
refrigerant Musicool22 in high-stage and R404A in low-stage.
Then, turn on the compressor high-stage and low-stage until
steady state conditions. Adjust heat rejection rate variations in
high-stage condenser. The condenser heat rejection rate by
turning fan speed for air flow at 0.7 m / s, 1.7 m / s, 2 m / s, 2.4 m
/ s and 2.8 m / s.
The results obtained from experimental study, with
increase the heat rejection rate on condenser high-stage which is
decreasing of temperature and pressure. The results increase
refrigeration effects, refrigeration capacity and coefficient of
performance. At the highest fan speed variation 2.8
m/s,effectiveness of concentric heat exchanger is 97.81%, COP of
the system is 1.035, refrigeration capacity of the system is 1.197
V
kW, HRR of the system is 1.966, low-stage evaporator
temperature is -37.8oC, and the lowest cabin temperature is -
34.2oC.
