Abstract
non-collinear.

A floating structure with spread mooring system will results in limitation of
weathervaning capability, that condition will caused the magnitude of force that
acting on the structure will be strongly influenced by direction of environmental
loads and the mooring lines fairlead’s position. This Final Project objective is
comparing mooring lines tension and FLNG Masela’s motion which is moored by
spread mooring with two configuration (Spread and Group) due to collinear and
non-collinear environmental loads condition. Spread configuration is modelled
consisting of 12 mooring lines which is located arround the FLNG at 30o interval,
Group configuration is arranged in 4 groups of 3 lines, with 2 groups is located at
the bow of the FLNG and two groups at the stern. The Analyses done by using
Ariane 8 software to performed time domain analysis and, Hydrostar software to
create the computation model and also calculate the FLNG’s hydrostatics and
hydrodynamics properties. The collinear environment for the floating structure is
caused by the combination of wave, wind and current move towards to floating
structure in one direction only or is called as in-phase, which is move in one angle
only. But in the non-collinear environment, the wind, wave and current move
towards floating structure in different direction of angle. From the analysis, Group
configuration provide smaller mooring lines tension magnitude and offset
compared to Spread configuration, It also shows the collinear environmetal loads
condition generate greater impact to mooring lines tension and FLNG offset
compared to non-collinear environmental condition.
