Abstract
Salah satu permasalahan dalam pengelasan itu ialah pengaruh air garam terhadap media pendingin las. Apabila pengelasan dilakukan didalam ruangan menggunakan metode SMAW. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan hasil las SMAW dengan arus 100 Ampere pada material SUS 304 dengan kampuh 60°, dilakukan dengan elektroda NSN-308L dan media pendinginan air dan garam 10%, air dan garam 15%, air dan garam 20%. Hasil las akan dilakukan pengujian mikrostruktur untuk mengetahui karbida kromium yang terjadi didalam hasil pengelasan dan dilakukan uji Tarik untuk melihat perbandingan nilai tegangan tarik. Hasil Mikrostruktur menunjukan terbentuknya kromium karbida dan pada hasil uji tarik diperoleh nilai tegangan tarik menurun dari banyaknya kandungan garam.

One of the problems in welding is the effect of salt water on weld cooling media. If welding is done indoors using the SMAW method. In this study, the SMAW welding with 100 Ampere current was carried out on SUS 304 with 60 °, carried out with NSN-308L electrode and 10% cooling water and salt media, 15% water and salt, 20% water and salt. The results of the weld will be microstructural testing to determine the chromium carbide that occurs in the welding results and the tensile test is carried out to see the comparison of the tensile stress values. Microstructure results show the formation of chromium carbide and in the results of the tensile test the value of the tensile stress decreases from the amount of salt content.
