Abstract

Memasuki era industri yang semakin maju dan terus berkembang, jaringan komunikasi dan arus data menjadi tumpuan pertukaran informasi secara real time. Hal ini menyebabkan koneksi internet yang andal menjadi pondasi yang amat penting bagi setiap bisnis. Kegagalan koneksi internet (downtime) akan menghambat jalannya bisnis dan menimbulkan kerugian baik bagi para pelaku bisnis maupun bagi penyedia layanan internet. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu tindakan dan penelitian guna meminimalkan terjadinya kegagalan koneksi. Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi persoalan di atas adalah dengan melakukan preventive maintenance. Penelitian dengan menggunakan metode ini dipilih guna mengetahui sejauh mana peran preventive maintenance dalam menurunkan risiko kegagalan koneksi yang disebabkan oleh kerusakan perangkat. Adapun alat yang digunakan dalam penelitian preventive maintenance ini adalah distribusi statistik untuk menentukan pola sebaran data kerusakan perangkat, lalu formula matematika untuk menghitung perkiraan lama downtime yang terjadi berdasarkan waktu dilakukan preventive maintenance. Dari hasil perhitungan lama terjadinya downtime ini dapat disimpulkan kapan waktu yang efektif untuk dilakukan preventive maintenance untuk meminimalkan downtime. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi penurunan nilai downtime ketika preventive maintenance diterapkan pada saat usia perangkat mencapai usia optimal. Perangkat EI8E – 8FE Electrical Interface Card berkurang sebesar 8,01% dengan usia optimal 21,82 hari. Perangkat GTGH – 16 Port GPON Line Card berkurang sebesat 5,46% dengan usia optimal 16,69 hari. Perangkat EMTPDP – DC Power Board berkurang sebesar 0,1% dengan usia optimal 53 hari. Perangkat MSVG – Control & Switching Card GPON berkurang sebesar 4,38% dengan usia optimal 32,28 hari. Perangkat MTPD – Power Supply berkurang sebesar 1,2% dengan usia optimal 92,35 hari. Perangkat ETC8B – 8E1/T1 CES Card berkurang sebesar 0,84% dengan usia optimal 41,23 hari. Dengan adanya penelitian ini, diharapkan mampu meminimalkan risiko terjadinya kegagalan koneksi akibat kerusakan perangkat, sehingga kualitas layanan internet menjadi lebih baik.

Entering the industrial era that is increasingly advanced and growing, communication networks and data flows are the foundation for real time information exchange. Therefore, reliable internet connection become very important foundation for every business. Internet connection failure or downtime will be the obstacle and causes much loss either for businessman and for internet provider company. This research aims to find a solution on how to minimize internet connection failure. One of the various method that can be used to overcome the problem is called preventive maintenance. This research is chosen to determine how far the role of preventive maintenance in reducing the risk of connection failure due to devices failure. Several tools that used in this research, such as statistical distribution to determine the pattern of devices' failure, and mathematical formula to calculate the estimated duration of the downtime occurs based on the time of preventive maintenance was applied. From that calculation, it can be concluded the optimal time to apply preventive maintenance to minimize downtime duration. The results reveal a decreasing downtime value happens when preventive maintenance is applied at the optimal age of the device. EI8E - 8FE Electrical Interface Card kit was reduced by 8.01% with an optimal age of 21.82 days. GTGH - 16 Port GPON Line Card devices were reduced by 5.46% with an optimal age of 16.69 days. EMTPDP-DC Power Board devices are reduced by 0.1% with an optimal age of 53 days. The GPON MSVG - Control & Switching Card device is reduced by 4.38% with an optimal age of 32.28 days. MTPD - Power Supply equipment is reduced by 1.2% with an optimal age of 92.35 days. The ETC8B - 8E1 / T1 CES Card device was reduced by 0.84% with an optimal age of 41.23 days. This research is expected to be able to minimize downtime duration caused by devices failure, so that the quality of internet services generates better performance.
