Abstract

PT Petrokimia Gresik Plant Unit III produces wastewater, the majority of which is phosphate and fluoride. In this study, sampling was conducted at Treated Water Effluent Treatment IIIB Production Unit III. Treated Water has not been utilized even though it has the potential to be reused as raw water in the scrubbing process in the Wet Scrubber Production Unit II. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum dosage of aluminum sulphate main coagulant and active lime supporting coagulant or PAC to produce water for scrubbing process, followed by making the Detail Engineering Design of the processing unit and preparing the budget plan. From this study it is known that the water parameters for scrubbing that do not meet established criteria are COD, fluorine, and TSS. To reduce the concentration of these parameters, coagulation was carried out with optimum doses of aluminum sulfate and active lime each with a concentration of 50 - 60 mg / L. In addition, 2 coagulation units, 1 flocculation unit, and 2 sedimentation units were produced, each having an effective volume of 4.7 m3 , 2.2 m3 , 23.4 m3 , and 60 m3 . Costs needed for the construction of Rp 571,926,410 and for operational costs in the range of Rp 2,617,161,360 - Rp 3,001,720,700/year.
