Abstract

Indonesia memiliki potensi energi gelombang laut yang melimpah. Riset sebelumnya menyatakan potensi teoritis energi gelombang laut di Indonesia sampai dengan 141.472 MW. Meskipun demikian, perhitungan potensi energi gelombang tersebut masih dihitung secara global dengan banyak asumsi yang diterapkan. Oleh karenanya, perhitungan potensi energi masih perlu diteliti menyesuaikan dengan karakteristik perairan setempat, yang mana dalam tugas akhir ini lokasi kajian berada di Pantai Selatan Banyuwangi. Perhitungan potensi energi dilakukan di dekat pantai, sedang data ERA5 berada di lepas pantai, sehingga diperlukan model numerik untuk melakukan penjalaran gelombangnya. Berdasarkan luaran model numerik, pada Bulan Desember 2018 s.d. November 2019 didapatkan tinggi gelombang signifikan (Hs) di lokasi studi dengan rentang 0,4─1,8 m dengan rerata Hs sebesar 1 m dan periode puncak gelombang (Tp) memiliki rentang 5,1─18,2 s dengan rerata Tp sebesar 13,9 s. Luaran model numerik tersebut selanjutnya digunakan untuk menghitung potensi daya dan potensi energi gelombang laut. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, diperoleh potensi daya gelombang laut di Pantai Selatan Banyuwangi memiliki rentang 0,3─27,5 kW/m; rerata potensi daya sebesar 8,7 kW/m dengan total potensi energi gelombang laut di Pantai Selatan Banyuwangi dalam setahun mencapai 76,48 MWh/m

Indonesia has a large of wave energy resources. The last research claimed 141,472 MW is potential for wave energy resources in Indonesia. Despite that, calculation of that research were still general, and many assumptions were applied. Therefore, this final project aims to calculate wave energy resources based on characteristics of the site, South Banyuwangi Sea. Because of the calculation of wave energy resources are located in nearshore and sources of data are located in offshore, wave propagation model is needed for this case. For these outputs, the significant wave height (Hs) at the site for a year is in a range of 0.4─1.8 m with average Hs at 1 m, and peak wave period (Tp) at the site for a year is in a range of 5,1─18,2 s with average Tp is 13,9 s. Those outputs are used to estimate wave power and wave energy in next. For the results, South Banyuwangi Sea has potential wave power in a range of 0.3 ─27.5 kW/m with mean power at 8.7 kW/m and has a potential wave energy in a year up to 76,48MWh/m
