Abstract

Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan untuk mengurangi polutan agar tidak terlepas ke lingkungan dalam jumlah besar. Salah satu upaya dilakukan yaitu penggunaan Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP). Dengan memanfaatkan ionisasi pada Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP), polutan dapat direduksi dengan jumlah seminimal mungkin pada tegangan dan kecepatan aliran udara tertentu. Dalam penelitian ini, telah dilakukan pengukuran reduksi Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) sebagai reduksi Gas CO dan CO2. Pengukuran reduksi dengan mengalirkan sampel asap yang ditampung pada tabung inlet menuju Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) dan sampel asap yang keluar dari Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) akan ditampung pada wadah outlet. Kadar Gas CO dan CO2 pada kedua tabung saat sebelum dan sesudah dialirkan dibandingkan untuk mendapatkan nilai reduksi. Sehingga didapatkan pengukuran tertinggi yaitu reduksi CO tertinggi yang sebesar reduksi 80.72% saat tegangan 25 kV dan debit gas sebesar 2 L/menit. Sedangkan reduksi CO2 tertinggi yang didapatkan pada jenis ESP plat sejajar dengan Reduksi 79.09 % saat tegangan 25 kV dan debit gas sebesar 2 L/menit. Kemampuan Reduksi ESP berbanding lurus terhadap tegangan listrik. Kemampuan Reduksi ESP berbanding terbalik terhadap debit gas.

Many efforts have been made to reduce pollutants for prevent large scale emition into the environment. One of them is usage of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP). Using ionization in the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP), pollutants can be reduced to a minimum amount at certain voltage and velocity of air flow. In this research, Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) efficiency measurements for reduction of CO and CO2 gas have been done. reduction measurement by flowing smoke samples that are accommodated in the inlet tube to the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) and smoke samples which coming out of the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) will be accumulated in the outlet tube. Concentrations of CO and CO2 gases in the two tubes before and after being flowed are compared to get the value of reduction . So that the highest measurement is obtained, the highest CO reduction of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) are 80.72% when the voltage are 25 kV and air flow are 2 Litres / min. While the highest CO2 reduction of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) are 79.09% efficiency when the voltage are 25 kV and the air flow are 2 L / min. The reduction ability of ESP is directly proportional to the voltage. The reduction ability of ESP is inversely related to gas discharge.
