Abstract

Lapis Aspal Beton (Laston) atau Asphalt Concrete (AC), terdiri dari tiga jenis campuran yaiitu AC lapis aus (AC-WC), AC lapis antara (AC-BC), dan AC lapis pondasi. Jenis campuran AC yang menggunakan bahan aspal polimer disebut masing – masing sebagai AC-WC modifikasi, AC-BC modifikasi, dan AC-Base modifikasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengamati pengaruh penambahan limbah styrofoam terhadap campuran AC-Base. Styrofoam merupakan bahan polymer polystyrene (PS) dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan aditif campuran aspal. Material yang digunakan pada penelitian ini antara lain agregat kasar, agregat halus, aspal pen. 60/70 dan limbah styrofoam. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini yaitu uji material, cek spesifikasi, pengujian KAO (Kadar Aspal Optimum), pengujian penambahan styrofoam dan analisa hasil pengujian Marshall dan parameternya. Proses pencampuran styrofoam menggunakan metode basah dengan cara memasukkan styrofoam kedalam aspal panas dan diaduk dengan kecepatan tinggi sampai homogen. Kadar aspal rencana dicari menggunakan rumus Pb. Variasi kadar styrofoam yang akan digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah sebesar 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, dan 10% dari total berat aspal rencana. Setiap variasi kadar styrofoam dilakukan pembuatan benda uji sebanyak 5 buah. Analisa penelitian ini ditinjau dari parameter Marshall yang meliputi pengujian Density, Void In Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), Void in Filled with Asphalt (VFA), Stabilitas Marshall, Flow, Marshall Quotient (MQ) yang didasarkan pada spesifikasi Bina Marga 2018. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat diketahui pengaruh penambahan limbah styrofoam pada campuran Laston Lapis Pondasi (AC-Base) terhadap parameter Marshall. Didapatkan nilai Kadar Styrofoam Optimum sebesar 1,63%. Nilai kadar styrofoam yang masih bisa digunakan atau masih masuk persyaratan uji karakteristik aspal styrofoam sesuai dengan spesifikasi aspal pen. 60/70 berkisar antara 0% sampai 2,6%. Nilai kadar styrofoam pada campuran AC-Base aspal styrofoam yang memenuhi persyaratan Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018 yaitu antara 0% - 3,25%. Sehingga kadar styrofoam pada aspal styrofoam yang masih bisa digunakan (memenuhi spek) adalah antara 0% - 2,6%.

Asphalt Concrete (AC) consists of three types of mixture. AC-Wearing Course (AC-WC), AC-Binder Course (AC-BC), and AC-Base Course. A type of asphalt concrete mixture made from polymer asphalt are called as AC-WC modification, AC-BC modification, and AC-Base modification. The purpose of this research is to observe the effect of adding waste styrofoam to the AC-Base mixture. Styrofoam is polymer polystyrene material (PS) and can be used as additive material for asphalt mixture. Materials used in this study are coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, asphalt pen. 60/70 and waste styrofoam. The stages in this research are material test, check specifications, optimum asphalt content testing, waste styrofoam addition test, and Marshall result analysis and the parameters. The process of mixing waste styrofoam using the wet method by inserting Styrofoam into hot asphalt and stirring at high speed until homogenous. The plan of asphalt content are sought using the Pb formula. The amount of Styrofoam content variations that will be used in this research are 0%; 2%; 4%; 6%; 8% and 10% of the total weight of asphalt plan. Each variation of Styrofoam content was carried out making 5 specimens. The analysis of this research was reviewed from Marshall parameters which is included density test, Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), Void in Filled with Asphalt (VFA), Marshall Stability, Flow, and Marshall Quotient (MQ) based on Bina Marga 2018 specification. The result of this research are expected to know the effect of waste styrofoam addition in the AC-Base mixture to the marshall parameters. Obtained the Optimum Styrofoam content value is 1.63%. The value of Styrofoam can still be used or included by the characteristic test requirements of Styrofoam asphalt according to pen. 60/70 asphalt specifications ranging from 0% to 2.6%. The value of Styrofoam levels in the mixture of AC-Base styrofoam that meets the requirements of the general specification of Bina Marga 2018 is between 0% - 3.25%. So the level of Styrofoam on the Styrofoam asphalt that can still be used (meet the spec) is between 0% - 2.6%.
