Abstract

==================================================================================================================================
The Indonesian Sea is the largest Marine-Mega-Biodiversity region in the world, has ± 8500 species of fish, ± 555 species of seaweed and ± 950 species of coral reefs. The world recognizes that Indonesia's marine biodiversity is one of the highest. He raised this design to instill motivation for adolescents and adults to be more aware of the beauty of marine life in Indonesia. The design is carried out by exploring the subject of marine life in Indonesia and objects regarding textile motifs based on fashion. The research method used was a depth interview with: Dian Dian (ITS Marine Biology expert) about the diversity of marine life in Indonesia, Princess P. and Melissa (Fashion Designer) regarding fashion and motif designs, Ashilla J. (Textile Designer) about motifs and materials used textiles. Observation in: Jatim Park 2 (Batu Secret Zoo) regarding marine biota knowledge, Nusa Penida Bali about the habitat and characteristics of subjects found, Galaxy Mall and Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya to explore trends in fashion motifs in Surabaya, Artjog 2018 to analyze drawing styles and application of motifs with art. Based on the results of the study, found subjects and design concepts that meet the target market criteria. The stage of making motif designs starts from sketching the direction of the motif, sketching the development of the subject which is done with a manual sketch, then sketching the motif by applying the subject that has been digitally drawn. From the sketch of the motifs found five (5) motifs that meet the criteria, have Indonesian characteristics, and can enter the trend of fashion motifs in 2020, namely: Blacktip Reef Shark, Manta and Waves, Balinese Green Sea Turtle, Minahasa Moray Zebra Eel, Wonderful Indonesian Corals . Post Test is carried out with pictures that aim to find out the target market response of men and women aged 17-25 years to the textile motifs that have been made. From the Post Test results, the five results of the motif include textile motifs that enter the criteria for fashion trends in 2020 because they have elements of fashion trends in 2020 but still have meanings and characteristics of marine life in Indonesia.
