Abstract

Pemanfaat Gas hasil gasifikasi biomassa serbuk kayu dapat
digunakan untuk berbagai kebutuhan sehari-hari. Salah satu
pemanfaatanya sebagai bahan bakar burner gas. Dibutuhkan
burner gas yang sesuai untuk memanfaatkan gas hasil gasifikasi
yang biasa disebut syngas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mendapatkan dimensi mixed chamber yang tepat dan kondisi
operasi yang optimal untuk burner syngas type partially
premixed. Selain itu juga untuk mendapatkan karakteristik unjuk
kerja burner gas type partially premixed.
Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Pembakaran
dan Bahan Bakar, jurusan teknik mesin ITS. Bahan bakar yang
digunakan adalah syngas hasil gasifikasi biomassa serbuk kayu.
Metode yang dilakukan adalah eksperimental dengan variasi
perubahan dimensi mixed chamber dengan merubah jarak pipa
bahan bakar (Nozzle) terhadap combustion chamber dengan
variasi 0 cm hingga 4 cm dengan kenaikan 1 cm dan variasi
tekanan bahan bakar syngas mulai dari 0,2 bar sampai 1,2 bar
dengan kenaikan 0,2 bar. Parameter yang diukur adalah tekanan,
distribusi temperatur api, ΔL Inclined manometer (θ = 15˚) dan
Visualisasi nyala api. Sedangkan parameter unjuk kerja yang
dihitung adalah laju aliran massa udara dan bahan bakar, daya
Burner, konsumsi bahan bakar spesific dan effisiensi.

Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil burner yang memiliki
distribusi temperatur api maksimum sebesar 448,15 oC pada
tekanan syngas 1,2 bar dengan posisi nozle 1 cm dari ujung
mixed chamber. Serta diperoleh daya burner tertinggi sebesar
30,30 kW dan efisiensi tertinggi sebesar 47,17 % pada tekanan
syngas 1,2 bar dengan posisi nozle 1 cm, dan konsumsi bahan
bakar spesifik optimum 0,82 kg/ kW h. Dari data hasil penelitian
yang didapatkan dapat disimpulkan dengan hasil unjuk kerja
yang didapat dimensi mixed chamber yang terbaik saat nozzle
pada posisi 1 cm pada kondisi tekanan 1,2 bar.

Gas utilizations of wood powder biomass gasification can
be used for any daily needs. One of them can be used as fuel of
gas burned and it takes some equality to utilize the gas of
gasification named syngas. This research is aimed to determine
an actual mixed chamber dimenssion and an optimal partially
premixed syngas oparation. Futhermore, It aimed to obtain
characteristic of partially premixed gas burner performance.
The Research is conducted at Combustion and Fuels
Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Department of ITS. The
used fuel is syngas which made of wood powder biomass
gasification with experimental method. Actually, this research is
changed its dimession of mixed chamber by changing its fuel pipe
distnace (nozzle) according to combustion chamber with 0 cm to
4 cm in length after 1 cm in every increasing and 0,2 bar in every
increasing of fuel pressure, started from 0,2 bar to 1,2 bar. The
measured parematers are pressure, distribution of flame
temerature, ΔL Inclined manometer (θ = 15˚), and flame
visualization meanwhile the determined parameters are mass
flowrate of air and fuels, combustion power,specific fuels
consumption and efficiency.

The results of this research are the highest distribution of
flame temperature is 448,15 oC settled on 1,2 bar of syngas
pressure with 1 cm of nozzle from the butt off and 0,82 kg/ kW h
of optimally specific fuels consumption. Then it can be concluded
that the best performance of this research is occured at 1 cm of
nozzle position with 1,2 bar of its pressure.
