Abstract

Wilayah Maluku Selatan merupakan wilayah bagian
timur Indonesia dengan potensi gempa yang tinggi. Salah satu
zona subduksi lempeng Indo-Australia. Sebagai upaya mitigasi
bencana gempa bumi, perlu adanya studi kegempaan berupa
relokasi hiposenter dan menganalisa persebaran hiposenter di
wilayah Maluku Selatan.
50 Km

South Maluku is the eastern part of Indonesia with high
earthquake potential. One of the reason that caused it happen is
setting of tectonic plates on South Maluku the complex tectonic
zone, a collision zone of the Eurasian plate, Philippine plate and
the Pacific plate, and on the Seram Island is the subduction zone
of the Indo-Australian plate. Therefore earthquake disaster, need
a studies seismology in order to mitigation, with relocation
hypocenter and distribution analyze in the region of South
Maluku. The principle of double difference method if there were
two earthquakes pair to each other, where the relative distance
between the earthquake is smaller than the distance relative to
the seismic recording station, then raypath and waveform can be
considered similar, so the errors due to velocity models can be
minimized. The result of using the method of double difference
relocation is able to provide more accurate results, as shown by
the RMS value of the relocation results much better (close to
zero) than the RMS value before relocation. Distribution of
earthquake hypocenter occur near faults and plate subduction
zones, shifting the epicenter location is collected at one point and
the depth of the hypocenter is spread (out of the fixed depth)
dominated between 2-50 Km.
