Abstract

Meningkatnya frekuensi kejadian kecelakaan transportasi laut di Indonesia akhir-akhir ini
semakin memprihatinkan. Kejadian kecelakaan yang dialami transportasi laut beberapa
diantaranya terjadi karena tabrakan, kebocoran pada kapal, kebakaran dan lainnya. Tugas Akhir
ini bermaksud untuk melakukan analisis secara teknis pada tenggelamnya KM. Meratus Banjar
2 di Perairan Masalembo, pada penelitian ini dilakukan pemodelan kebocoran pada lambung
KM. Meratus Banjar 2 untuk dianalisis stabilitas dengan menggunakan software Maxsurf
Stability education version. Kebocoran terjadi pada shechast di kompartemen kamar mesin sisi
portside sehingga isi tangki-tangki balas berpindah dari starboard ke portside dan
mempengaruhi stabilitas kapal. Dari pemodelan kebocoran dapat diketahui pengaruh masuknya
air pada kapal terhadap stabilitas kapal. Terutama pengaruhnya pada lengan pengembali (GZ).
Setelah dilakukan analisis stabilitas kapal saat kapal mengalami kebocoran di kamar mesin
dengan trim sebesar 4.50 m di dapatkan, sudut heeling sebesar -17.6 deg, draft depan 4.715 m,
draft belakang 9.215 m, displacement kapal sebesar 12708 ton dan volume air masuk di kamar
mesin sebesar 1250.019 m3
, dengan status kapal GZ mendekati nol (negatif) sebesar -0.0004
m. Berdasarkan hasil analisis di atas nilai GZ pada saat bocor adalah negative, sehingga kapal
tidak memiliki momen pengembali yng cukup. Hal ini mengakibatkan kapal mengalami capsize
dan akhirnya tenggelam.

The enhancement of sea transportation accident in Indonesia recently, is very alarming.
Some of those accidents are collisions, leakages, burning ships, and the others. The objective
of this final project is to analyze technically about the capsize of MV. Meratus Banjar 2 in
Masalembo Waters. This research conducted leakage modelling of MV. Meratus Banjar’s 2
hull to analyze its stability by using Maxsurf module education version. The leakages occured
on starboard side seachest in engine room. Because of this, water ballast moved from starboard
to port side and affected the ship’s stability. From the leakage modelling, known that the
incoming water to ship affected ship’s stability. Especially, affected the righting arm (GZ).
After doing stability analysis when the ship is leaking with trim 4.50 m, obtained heel angle -
17.6 deg, fore draft 4.715 m, aft draft 9.215 m, ship’s displacement: 12708 ton, and incoming
water’s volume 1250.019 m3
, ship’s status GZ negative -0.0004. Due to analysis result known
that when the ship is leaking, GZ value is negative, so the ship didn’t have enough righting
moment. Because of this, the ship is capsize and sink.
