Abstract

Porang atau yang biasa disebut emas hitam, berapa tahun terakhir menjadi booming karena porang mempunyai nilai tambah yang tinggi jika diolah dengan tepat. Akan tetapi masih minimnya teknologi tentang pengelolahan porang masih sangat sedikit. Sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk mengelola porang menjadi chip, jika waktu panen raya sudah tiba maka diperlukan waktu yang lama untuk mengelola porang. Oleh karena itu terciptanya ide tentang alat perajang porang. Untuk dapat merancang mesin perajang porang maka diperlukan pertama adalah dengan wawancara, observasi lapangan dan tumbuhan porang. Setelah mendapat data tentang porang maka dilakukan studi literatur dan refrensi tentang mesin perajang porang. Setelah melakukan studi literatur dilakukan perancangan dan perhitungan daya, gaya dan elemen mesin. hasil perancangan dan perhitungan lalu dilakukan proses pembuatan mesin perajang porang. Alat ini mempunyai gaya potong sebesar 13,51 kgf, dengan tegangan geser sebesar 5302,12 N/m2 kemudian mendapatkan torsi sebesar 1958,95

Porang or commonly called black gold, for the last few years become booming because porang have high added value if processed appropriately. But still the lack of technology about the processing Porang is still very little. So it takes a long time to manage the Porang into a chip, if the harvest time has arrived then it takes a long time to manage the Porang. Therefore, the idea of a portable appliance. To be able to design a porter machine then the first required is with interviews, field observations and plants
Porang. After getting data about the Porang then the study of literature and the reference on the portable machine. After conducting literature studies conducted the scaffolding and calculation of the power, style and elements of the machine. Result of design and calculation and then made process of making a portable chopper machine.
It has a cut style of 13.51 kgf, with a sliding voltage of 5302.12 N/m2 then gaining a torque of 1958,95 kgf.mm for one blade. While the power obtained is 0, 819HP. Then the electric motor was chosen with the Power 1HP with 1400 rpm. For tool testing acquired capacity of 14834,7 kg/hr. This tool has 2 pieces of knife with obligonal cutting, the cut blade is equipped with a thickness adjustment of pieces with 5 – 10mm, so the pieces can be homogeneous, so that the Glucomanan content in Porang is not lost.
