Abstract

Multiple Disabilties with Visual Impairment (MDVI) merupakan keadaan ketika seseorang memiliki gangguan penglihatan (baik gangguan penglihatan total maupun sebagian atau masih memiliki sisa penglihatan) disertai dengan keterbatasan lainnya.. Selain gangguan penglihatan, seorang anak juga mungkin mengalami keterbatasan yang lain seperti keterbatasan kognitif, perkembangan, pendengaran, dan mobilitas. Pendidikan anak MDVI dibagi menjadi dua yaitu intervensi dini (terapi) dan pendidikan lanjutan (sekolah luar biasa). Dalam mendidik anak MDVI dibutuhkan sarana untuk menunjang proses pembelajaran agar anak dapat melatih kemandirian anak dalam menjalankan aktivitas sehari - hari. Anak MDVI membutuhkan media terapi yang dapat memaksimalkan perkembangan sensomotorik mereka, namun pada saat ini belum ada media terapi khusus untuk anak MDVI. Desain alat permainan edukatif dikembangkan dari alat terapi okupasi yang berfungsi untuk melatih motorik halus dan sensorik pada anak serta latihan untuk kemampuan melakukan kegiatan sehari – hari. Melalui studi aktivitas anak MDVI di sekolah diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang kebutuhan anak MDVI dalam pengembangan dirinya. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah observasi, depth interview, affinity diagram, serta studi literature mengenai anak MDVI. Alat Permainan Edukatif ini bertujuan sebagai sarana untuk menunjang perkembangan sensomotorik anak MDVI agar dapat berlatih lebih mandiri dalam aktivitas sehari – hari.

Multiple Disability with Visual Impairment (MDVI) is a condition when someone has a visual impairment (both total and partial visual impairment) accompanied by other limitations. Besides visual impairment, a child may also experience other limitations such as cognitive limitations, development, hearing and mobility. MDVI children's education is divided into two, namely early intervention (therapy) and further education (special schools). In educating MDVI children, needed facilities to support the learning process so that can train MDVI children's independence in carrying out daily activities. MDVI children need therapeutic media that can maximize their sensorymotor development, but now there is no specific therapeutic media for MDVI children. The design of educational toys was developed from occupational therapy tools that function to train fine motor and sensory skills in children as well as exercises for the ability to do daily activities. Through the study of MDVI children's activities in schools it is expected to provide information about the needs of MDVI children in their development. The design methods used were observation, depth interview, affinity diagram, and literature study on MDVI children. This educational toys aims as a means to support the MDVI children's sensorymotor development so that they can practice more independently in their daily activities.
