Abstract
Rheumatoid Arthritis adalah suatu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh autoimun dimana persendian akan mengalami peradangan, sehingga terjadi pembengkakan, nyeri dan seringkali akhirnya menyebabkan kerusakan bagian dalam sendi. Peradangan ini umumnya mengenai sendi sendi kecil, salah satunya pada bagian tangan. Penyakit ini dapat menimbulkan kecacatan jika tidak ditangani dengan semestinya, seperti menimbulkan deformitas pada jari pasien, dan melemasnya otot sendi maupun menurunnya kekuatan cengkraman. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan alat bantu rehabilitasi berupa hand splint static untuk membantu menopang tangan pasien dalam posisi fungsional. Pada perancangan ini, metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan shadowing, yaitu dengan mengikuti aktivitas yang dilakukan pasien, kemudian mencari solusi yang dibutuhkan dari studi aktivitas tersebut. Pengembangan desain hand splint dilakukan dengan cara melakukan studi banding produk serupa atau yang sudah ada sebelumnya, yang kemudian dijadikan acuan untuk pembuatan prototype dan di cetak dengan proses rapid prototyping/3d printing. Hand splint yang akan dibuat nantinya akan menghasilkan konsep yaitu effectiveness, easy to use, fit in hand,light dan efficient

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a disease caused by autoimune where the joints will become inflamed, resulting in swelling, pain and oftenly cause damage to the inside of joints. This inflammation generally affects the small joints, whis is int the hands. This disease can caus disability if not treated properly, such as causing deformity in the finger of the patient and relaxes joint muscles and decrease the grip strenght. So that needed rehabilitation tools hand splint static to support patients in the functional position. The method use shadowing technique in this design with join patients activity in actual condition, then find the solution needed from that activities study. The design development of hand splint is doing with product comparation study which is similar or exist before, and become a role model for making prototype and printed with rapid prototyping/3d printing.
