Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis Computational Fluid

Dynamics (CFD) dari proses pembilasan (scavenging) dari semi-
free piston diesel engine tipe dua langkah berpiston ganda

berlawanan arah. Mesin ini berjenis dua tak dengan cross-
flowscavenging.

==============================================================================================This study is focused on the analysis of Scavenging Process
of semi-free piston diesel engine with two stroke and opposed
direction using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). This two
stroke engine is using cross-flow scavenging for the process of
combustion. By using software Ansys CFX the value of pressure
and velocity can be obtained. CFD can help to analyze the
scavenging process, especially flow patterns that occur within the
cylinder. CFD simulation can provide more detailed information
from experimental studies. The results of simulation can provide
better information about fluid dynamic to improve the performance
and efficiency of the engine because the scavenging process
playing an important role in producing pollution levels,
performance and the efficiency. Furthermore, the next objective is
by using this analysis can upgrade the design of this linear engine
