Abstract
Sebuah kapal berjalan dengan menggunakan suatu daya
dorong yang dalam istilahnya disebut sebagai thrust. Daya dorong
tersebut dalam menggerakkan kapal akan sangat dipengaruhi oleh
tahanan kapal. Tahanan (resistance) atau disingkat R kapal adalah
gaya fluida yang bekerja pada kapal sedemikian rupa melawan
gerakan kapal tersebut. Tahanan di sini sebagaian besar di
pengaruhi oleh tahanan gesek kapal. Superhydrophobic adalah
sifat fisis molekul suatu material untuk menolak atau menghindari
air. Seperti air diatas daun talas yang terlihat tidak sedikit pun
membasahi daun tersebut. Itulah yang disebut Hydrophobic Efect.
Tujuan penulisan skripsi ini menganalisa dan membuktikan
apakah jika lambung (hull) kapal dilapisi dengan
superhydrophobic akan terjadi pengurangan tahanan. Metode
yang digunakan ialah dengan melakukan eksperimental langsung
pada lab hydrodinamika ITS. Dari hasil analisa didapatkan
tahanan yang di hasilkan dari model setelah dilakukan pelapisan
mengunakan hydrophobic dan superhydrophobic berkurang.
Pengurangan tahanan setelah di lapisi superhydrophobic rata-rata
sebesar 10% dan 22%. Pengurangan tahanan gesek terjadi seiring
dengan turunnya tahanan total

A ship runs by using an impetus which the term referred
to as thrust. The thrust in moving the ship will be strongly
influenced by the detention of the ship. Resistance (R) boat is
fluid force acting on the vessel in such a way against the
movement of the ship. Resistance is a large part influenced by the
frictional resistance of the ship. Superhydrophobic is the physical
properties of the molecules of a material to reject or avoid water.
As above water taro leaves that look the slightest wet the leaves.
That is called Hydrophobic-effect. The purpose of this thesis to
analyze and prove whether if the hull (hull) vessel is coated with
a superhydrophobic will be a reduction of resistance. The method
used is to conduct experimental lab hydro-dynamics on ITS.
From the analysis results obtained custody which is derived from
the model after using hydrophobic and superhydrophobic coating
is reduced. Reduction in the coated superhydrophobic custody
after an average of 10% and 22%. Reduction of frictional
resistance occur along with lower total resistance
