Abstract
Kecelakaan kapal terjadi karena kurangnya standar
keamaan yang telah diterapkan di Indonesia. Salah satunya
merupakan KM Otong Kosasih yang terbakar di perairan sungai
Musi, Palembang. Kebakaran pada kapal tersebut terjadi di
bangunan atas kapal yaitu dek poop, dek b, dek c dan dek bridge
sedangkan pada ruang muat tidak terkena kebakaran. Kebakaran
paling parah terjadi di dek bridge sehingga menyebabkan
kerusakan pada alat-alat navigasi dan komunikasi. Pada penelitian
ini akan dilakukan pemodelan kebakaran menggunakan program
Fire Dynamic Simulator. Sumber api berasal dari ruang
electrician sesuai dengan kesaksian abk kapal yang berada di
kapal pada saat kejadian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengetahui persebaran api di dek yang mengalami kebakaran
serta evaluasi alat pemadam kabakaran kapal tersebut. Hasil dari
pemodelan kebakaran menunjukkan bahwa kebakaran paling
parah terjadi di dek bridge. Dek bridge memiliki temperatur
paling besar yaitu 700OC. Dan hasil evaluasi alat pemadam
kebakaran yaitu memasang 151 sprinkler di dek poop, dek b, dek
c dan dek bridge.

Marine accidents occur because of lacking security
standards applied in Indonesia. One of he case is KM Otong
Kosasih which fire in Musi River, Palembang. This fired was
occurred in the superstructures of the ship, including: poop deck,
B deck, C deck and bridge deck – whereas cargo deck was not
affected. The most severe fire was occurred in the bridge deck
which resulted to damaged navigation and communication
equipment. In this study, fire modelling is performed using Fire
Dynamic Simulator (FDS). According to eye-witness crew,
ignition is believed from the electrician room. The objective of
this study is to find out fire dispersion on decks where fire took
place at as well as to evaluate fire extinguisher equipment
onboard. The result of fire modelling shows that in bridge deck
was occurred the most severe fire. Bridge deck has the highest
temperature of 700OC. The result of evaluation on safety
equipment confirm that 151 sprinklers are to be installed in poop
deck, B deck, C deck and bridge deck.
