Abstract
MARPOL 73/78 annex VI regulasi 14 mengatur tentang kandungan sulfur pada bahan
bakar sebesar 0.5% secara global. MARPOL 73/78 annex VI regulasi 13 mengatur tentang
kandungan Nox (g/KWH) berdasarkan RPM dan tahun pembuatan kapal. MARPOL 73/78
dibangun setelah 1 Januari 2013 berisi penurunan prosentase emisi setiap 5 tahun. Guna
scrubber, direct water injection, exhaust gas recirculation, humid air motor, selective catalityc
kondisi green.

MARPOL 73/78 annex VI 14th regulates sulfur content 0.5% for globally. MARPOL
73/78 annex VI 13th regulates Nox (g/KWH) content based on RPM and the year when the
ship built. MARPOL 73/78 annex VI chapter 4 regulates CO2 content for new ships built
after January 1st 2013; it has an emission percentage reduction target updated every 5 years. In
order to meet this standard, shipping companies need to consider the effects of their
operational activities to remain within the limit of their green condition. Shipping companies
need to maintain a balance between environmental issues and profit that needs to be made. A
Voyage Calculation is required on these case studies.
The various possible green options include reducing the speed of the ship, combining
the fuel with low sulfur based fuel, adding more equipment such as scrubber, direct water
injection, exhaust gas recirculation, humid air motor, selective catalityc reduction, and even
changing the ship to use LNG based fuel. Based on the green options given before, the green
strategy which minimizes cost and emissions after x period of time was calculated. This
research used 5 different ships to represent current Indonesian domestic shipping condition
based upon the ships' payload and the year built.
The calculation results show that adding exhaust gas recirculation, direct water
injection and changing the fuel into low sulfur fuel maximize profit and are compatible with
green standards.
