Abstract

Pelapisan grafit dengan serbuk titanium melalui metode PIRAC (Powder Immersion Reaction Assisted Coating) telah berhasil dilakukan dengan variasi temperatur 8500C, 9000C, dan 9500C selama 10 jam. Pelapisan grafit tanpa penambahan ZrO2 menghasilkan lapisan TiC. Sedangkan pelapisan grafit dengan penambahan ZrO2 menghasilkan lapisan paduan Ti1-xZrx. Lapisan TiC yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini memiliki kekerasan yang lebih besar dari lapisan paduan Ti1-xZrx yang terbentuk dalam penelitian ini. Masing-masing lapisan memiliki kekerasan lebih tinggi dari grafit yang dilapisi. Grafit yang digunakan memiliki kekerasan 45 HV. Lapisan TiC yang terbentuk memiliki kekerasan rata-rata sebesar 2504 HV. Lapisan paduan Ti1-xZrx yang terbentuk memiliki kekerasan rata-rata sebesar 282 HV. ============================================================= ============================================================ Graphite coating with titanium powder by PIRAC (Powder Immersion Reaction Assisted Coating) method had been conducted with variation of temperatures at 8500C, 9000C, and 9500C in 10 hours. Graphite coating without any adduction of ZrO2 produced TiC coating. Meanwhile graphite coating with adduction of ZrO2 produced Ti1-xZrx alloy coating. TiC coating which was resulted from this experiment had higher hardness than Ti1-xZrx alloy coating which was resulted from this experiment. Each coating had higher hardness than graphite which was coated. This graphite had hardness value of 45 HV. TiC coating which was resulted had hardness value of 2504 HV. Meanwhile Ti1-xZrx alloy coating which was resulted had hardness value of 282 HV.
