Abstract

Instalasi saluran udara tidak hanya berupa pipa lurus, tetapi
juga terdapat fitting/aksesoris perpipaan misalnya elbow 90o dan
damper. Aksesoris perpipaan ini berfungsi agar saluran udara
dapat terpasang sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Namun, penggunaan
aksesoris perpipaan ini menyebabkan bertambahnya pressure
drop akibat adanya friction loss dan separation loss. Pemasangan
guide vane pada elbow 90o diharapkan dapat mengurangi pressure
drop karena dapat mengurangi terjadinya secondary flow, namun
hal ini dapat menambah kerugian akibat gaya gesek. Saat ini
penghematan energi menjadi sorotan terutama dalam dunia
industri. Penurunan pressure drop pada belokan perpipaan sangat
diharapkan, agar dapat menghemat energi lebih. Untuk itu perlu
dilakukan usaha agar dapat menurunkan pressure drop yang
terjadi.
Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan benda
uji saluran udara yang terdiri dari: upstream duct (straight duct),
square elbow 90o dengan r/Dh=1,5 dan dilengkapi double guide
vane, damper, downstream duct (straight duct), dan induced fan.
Pengukuran parameter yang dibutuhkan dilakukan dengan
menggunakan: pitot tube, inclined manometer, pressure
tranducer. Pengujian dilakukan dengan variasi sudut damper 0o,
10o, 20o, 30o yang diputar secara CCW dengan Re=7,87x104
untuk mendapatkan profil kecepatan bidang vertikal dan
horziontal, sedangkan untuk mengetahui pressure drop yangii
terjadi dilakukan pada beberapa variasi nilai Re yang berbeda,
yaitu 3,99x104; 4,73x104; 5,52x104; 6,3x104; 7,09x104; 7,87x104;
8,67x104; 9,46x104.
Dari eksperimen ini diperoleh bahwa profil kecepatan pada
masing-masing variasi sudut bukaan damper sudah mendekati
keadaan recovery aliran pada akhir section baik dari bidang
vertikal maupun horizontal. Pressure drop yang terjadi semakin
naik seiring dengan bertambahnya nilai bilangan Reynolds dan
sudut bukaan damper. Nilai konstanta damper semakin naik dari
bukaan sudut 0o hingga 30o

Installation of air ducts not only in the form of a straight
pipe, but also there is a piping accessories, eg 90 ° elbow and
damper. Piping accessories function so that the air ducts can be
installed as needed. However, the use of this piping accessories
will increase the pressure drop due to friction loss and separation
loss. Installation guide vane at 90o elbow is expected to reduce
pressure drop because it can reduce the occurrence of secondary
flow, but it can add to losses due to friction forces. Currently the
energy savings in the spotlight, especially in the industrial world.
Decreasing pressure drop in the piping bends are highly desirable,
in order to conserve more energy. It is necessary for businesses to
be able to lower the pressure drop that occurs.
This research was done experimentally with the test
object air duct consisting of: upstream duct (straight duct), square
elbow 90 o with r / Dh = 1,5 and include double guide vane,
damper, downstream duct (straight duct), and induced fan ,
Measurement parameters are required to do by using: pitot tube,
inclined manometer, pressure transducer. Testing was done by
varying the angle damper 0o, 10 o, 20 o, 30 o rotated CCW by Re =
7,87x104 to get vertical and horizontal plane velocity profile,
while to know the pressure drop that occurs is done in several
different variations of Re values, are 3,99x104; 4,73x104;
5,52x104; 6,3x104; 7,09x104; 7,87x104; 8,67x104; 9,46x104.iv
From these experiments showed that the velocity profile
at each variation damper opening angle is approaching a state of
recovery flow at end section of the field either vertically or
horizontally. Pressure drop is happening farther up along with
increasing the value of the Reynolds number and opening angle
of the damper. Constant value of damper are increasingly rising
on the opening angle of 0 ° to 30 °
