Abstract
Saluran udara merupakan komponen penting untuk
mensirkulasikan udara ataupun mengkondisikan udara pada suatu
bangunan. Konstruksi saluran udara terdiri dari berbagai
komponen, diantaranya yaitu damper , guide vane, elbow 90o, dan
lain sebagainya. Sistem saluran udara dimana terdapat aliran fluida
yang melintasi elbow 90o akan mengalami pressure drop lebih
besar daripada melintasi saluran udara lurus dengan kecepatan free
stream sama, sehingga akan terjadi kerugian energi lebih besar.
Model uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian secara numerik
ini berupa ducting dengan penampang square yang terdiri dari:
upstream straight duct, square elbow 90o, downstream straight
duct, serta dilengkapi aksesoris berupa double guide vane dan
damper yang diletakkan pada jarak x/Dh=2 dari outlet elbow.
Pengukuran parameter-parameternya dilakukan pada setiap cross
section di sepanjang downstream straight duct. Pengujian
dilakukan dengan variasi sudut bukaan damper.
Dari penelitian ini diperoleh karakteristik aliran pada
downstream dan nilai pressure drop yang terjadi pada setiap
variasi. Dilihat dari bentuk profil kecepatan aliran hingga jarak 18
Dh belum menunjukkan recovery aliran pada bidang horizontal,
hal ini dikarenakan hingga jarak 18 Dh masih terdapat aliran
sekunder. Nilai pressure drop sangat dipengaruhi oleh damper.

Air duct is an important component to circulate air or air
conditioning of a building. Construction of the air duct contained
various components, among them are damper, guide vane, elbow
90o, and others. An air duct system in which contained fluid flow
across a 90 ° elbow will occur pressure drop which greater than
across straight air duct with same free stream velocity, so there
will be loss of energy is greater.
The test model used in the study are numerically in the form
of ducting with a square cross-section consisting of: upstream
straight duct, square elbow 90o, downstream straight duct, and
are equipped with accessories such as double guide vane and
damper which placed at a distance x/Dh = 2 from the outlet elbow.
Measurement parameters are performed on every cross section
which located along the downstream. straight duct. Testing was
done by varying the damper opening angle.
From this research, the characteristics of the flow in the
downstream and the value of pressure drop in every variation.
Judging from the shape of the flow velocity profile to a distance of
18 Dh , flow recovery has not shown on the horizontal plane, this
is due to a distance of 18 Dh there is still a secondary flow. The
pressure drop value is affected by the installation of dampers.
