Abstract
Indonesia memiliki kekayaan dan keanekaragaman hayati di dalamnya yang sangat penting bagi kehidupan, salah satunya adalah hutan. Namun, dapat diketahui bahwa saat ini jumlah ekosistem hutan mengalami penurunan setiap tahunnya. Salah satu faktor yang mengakibatkan penurunan terhadap jumlah hutan di Indonesia adalah kerusakan lingkungan. Sehingga, perlu adanya perhatian manusia dalam upaya melestarikan lingkungan dan membangun budaya masyarakat yang memiliki wawasan terhadap lingkungan yang mulai ditanamkan sejak usia sekolah dasar. Namun, kendala yang ada adalah tidak banyak media yang memuat konten mengenai kerusakan lingkungan beserta upaya pelestarian dengan memanfaatkan media informasi untuk anak-anak. Media yang ada, seperti buku fisik dan buku elektronik keluaran badan konservasi lingkungan, memuat konten dengan gaya bahasa dan materi yang susah dipahami oleh anak-anak. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan pelestarian lingkungan kepada anak-anak melalui media belajar serta cara menjaga lingkungan yang dimulai dari usia kelas 5 SD. Perancangan ini diharapkan mampu memberikan pemahaman kepada anak-anak tentang makna pelestarian lingkungan. Dalam menunjang proses perancangan, dibutuhkan beberapa data yang mampu memperkuat studi yang akan dilakukan, diantaranya adalah dengan mencari tahu tentang literatur dan data sekunder yang berkaitan dengan kerusakan lingkungan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh atau dampak kerusakan bagi lingkungan, karakteristik segmen, peran guru dan orang tua, mencari tahu standar kompetensi dan indikator kurikulum tematik sesuai dengan standar Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Timur, dan studi eksisting sebagai sarana belajar baik di rumah maupun di sekolah. Data-data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis dengan metode kualitatif. Wujud dari perancangan ini adalah sebuah buku visual pelestarian lingkungan berkonsep tematik

Indonesia has a rich and biodiversity culture that is essential for life, one of which is forests. Forest is a natural resources that has the most effect to the condition of the earth and living creatures. However, it is known that the current number of forest ecosystems have decreased every year. One of the factors that lead to a reduction of the number of Indonesian forests is because of the environmental damage. However, there are obstacles that is not a lot of media that contains the contents of the damage and its environmental conservation efforts by utilizing information media for children. Existing media, such as physical books and electronic books from the environmental conservation agencies, which acquires content with style and materials that is poorly understood by children. The design aims to introduce environmental preservation through learning media as well as how to keep the environment for children starting in the age of a 5 th grade. The design is expected to provide an understanding to the children about the significance of environmental conservation. In support of the research process, the result from the research could have some data’s that can strengthen the study to be conducted by finding out about the literature and secondary data associated with environmental damage to determine how the effect of it on the environment, characteristics of the child's 5th grade at school and at home, knowing how the role of teachers and parents to support the students' learning process, finding out about the standards and indicators curriculum thematic in accordance with the standards of the Department of Education, and supported by researching existing media, as a learning tool for both at home and at school. The data collected is then analyzed with qualitative methods. Supported by researching existing media, as a learning tool for both at home and at school.
