Abstract
Metodologi desain pada elemen strutur Light Rail Transit (LRT) mengacu pada sistem yang direkomendasikan dalam peratutan ACI (American Concrete Institute) dan Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP Report 155) serta didukung oleh peraturan Indonesia SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia).
Rekomendasi dari peraturan ACI, TCRP Report maupun SNI menjelaskan tentang klarifikasi struktur utama maupun struktur tambahan pada desain LRT seperti persyaratan kuat leleh, kemampuan layan, efesiensi biaya, metode konstruksi pada daerah padat serta faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi proses konstruksi pada tempat yang padat dan ramai seperti kota Jakarta.
Menurut TCRP Report 155, LRT adalah evolusi dari sistem teknologi kereta listrik. Kereta listrik telah mendominasi transportasi dalam kota di Amerika sejak Perang Dunia ke-2. Namun setelah perang selesai, sistem lama dengan menggunakan bus sebagai transportasi kota lebih banyak digunakan dan hanya beberapa kereta listrik yang bekerja.The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) mendefinisikan Light Rail Transit sebagai sistem kereta listrik yang dapat beroperasi dengan satu atau lebih kereta baik di atas tanah, di struktur jembatan, subway ataupun di jalan utama kota. Sistem LRT juga dapat menaikkan dan menurunkan penampang di stasiun ataupun di jalan serta sistem LRT dapat dilengkapi dengan kabel listrik.

Strutur elements of design methodology at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) refers to the system recommended in peratutan ACI (American Concrete Institute) and the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP Report 155) and supported by the Indonesian regulatory SNI (Indonesian National Standard).
Recommendations of regulation ACI, TCRP Report and SNI describes the clarification of the main structure and additional structures on the design of the LRT as the requirements of yield strength, the ability of fishermen, cost efficiency, methods of construction in densely populated areas as well as other factors affecting the construction process on a solid place and crowded city like Jakarta.
According TCRP Report 155, LRT is the evolution of the technology system of electric trains. Electric train has dominated transport in cities in the United States since World War 2. But after the war was over, the old system of using buses as the city's transport more widely used and only a few electric trains that work.The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) defined as the Light Rail Transit system of electric trains that can operate with one or more trains both above ground, in the structure of the bridge, subway or in the main street of town. LRT system can also raise and lower cross-section at the station or on the road and LRT systems can be equipped with an electric cable
