Abstract

Saluran udara (ducting system) dalam dunia industri tidak hanya berupa pipa lurus, namun juga terdapat fitting baik dalam bentuk percabangan saluran, penggabungan saluran, ataupun pembelokan saluran. Contoh fitting yang digunakan pada saluran udara adalah elbow 90o dan damper (valve). Penggunaan elbow 90o akan menyebabkan penurunan tekanan (pressure drop) karena adanya friction loss, separation loss, dan secondary flow yang terjadi setelah melewati elbow 90o . Untuk mengurangi separation loss dan secondary flow adalah dengan menambahkan sudu pengarah pada elbow 90o . Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan model saluran udara berpenampang bujursangkar (square duct) dengan Dh=125mm yang terdiri dari: upstream duct (straight duct) dengan panjang 6Dh, elbow 90o dengan r/Dh=1,5 dan dilengkapi single guide vane, damper, downstream duct (straight duct) dengan panjang 16Dh, dan induced draft fan. Pengukuran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pitot static tube, inclined manometer, dan pressure tranducer. Pengujian dilakukan dengan variasi sudut bukaan damper 0 o , 10o , 20o , 30o yang diputar secara CCW dengan ReDh 7,88x104 untuk mendapatkan profil kecepatan sepanjang downstream duct, pressure drop antara downstream duct dan upstream duct berupa nilai pressure coefficient, koefisien loss minor elbow 90o dengan single guide vane, ======================================================================================================== An air duct (ducting system) in the industrial is not only a straight pipe, but also has good fitting in the form of branching ducts, merging of ducts, or deflection ducts. The fittings examples that are used in the air ducts is elbow 90o and damper (valve). The uses of an elbow 90o will cause a pressure drop due to friction loss, separation loss and secondary flow that occurs after passing elbow 90o . To reduce the separation loss and the secondary flow by adding a guide vane at elbow 90o . This study was conducted by experiments of a square Air duct with diameter Dh = 125mm consisting of: upstream duct (straight duct) with a 6Dh length, elbow 90o with r / Dh = 1.5 including a single guide vane, damper , downstream duct (straight duct) with a 16Dh length, and induced draft fan. Measurements in this study using a pitot static tube, inclined manometer, and a pressure transducer. The experiments variation of opening angle of damper was 0 o , 10o , 20o and 30o rotated in CCW with ReDh 7,88x104 for the velocity profile along the downstream duct, duct pressure drop between the pressure coefficient of downstream and the pressure coefficient of upstream duct, coefficient losses of minor elbow 90o with single guide vane
