Abstract

PLTU PT. PJB UBJ O&M Paiton Unit 9 merupakan salah satu unit pembangkit milik PT. PLN yang berkapasitas 660 MW. Pada PLTU PJB Unit 9 menerapkan siklus Rankine Regeneratif dengan komponen tambahan 3 buah High Pressure Heater, 3 buah Low Pressure Heater dan 1 buah Deaerator. High Pressure Heater merupakan heat exchanger bertekanan tinggi yang bertujuan meningkatkan temperatur feedwater sebelum masuk boiler dengan fluida panas berupa ekstraksi High Pressure dan Intermediate Pressure Turbine. Konsumsi bahan bakar pada boiler akan semakin menurun seiring dengan kenaikan temperatur feedwater yang masuk ke boiler, sehingga efisiensi siklus pembangkit akan meningkat. Namun, HPH 3 pada PLTU PJB Unit 9 Paiton telah mengalami kebocoran sehingga temperatur feedwater yang masuk boiler menurun. Hal tersebut menyebabkan konsumsi bahan bakar pada boiler meningkat, sehingga efisiensi siklus pembangkit menurun. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan re-design pada HPH 3 agar didapatkan desain HPH 3 dengan performa yang lebih baik. Re- design dilakukan dengan analisis termodinamika dan perpindahan panas. Data HPH 3 yang digunakan disesuaikan dengan kondisi operasi dan data desain HPH 3 pada PT. PJB UBJ O&M Unit 9 Paiton. Metode yang digunakan untuk re-design adalah metode LMTD (Log Mean Temperature Difference).

Power Plant PT. PJB UBJ O & M Paiton Unit 9 is one of the power plant by PT. PLN which has capacity of 660 MW. Steam power plant PJB Unit 9 apply Regenerative Rankine cycle with an additional component of 3 pieces High Pressure Heater, 3 pieces of Low Pressure Heater and a Deaerator. High Pressure Heater is a high-pressure heat exchanger which aims to increase the feedwater temperature before entering the boiler with the extraction of High Pressure and Intermediate Pressure Turbine as hot fluid. The fuel consumption of the boiler will decrease as the temperature increases the feedwater enters the boiler, therefore the cycle efficiency of plant will increase. However, HPH 3 at PJB Unit 9 Paiton power plant sprung a leak so that the temperature of the boiler feedwater entering decline. This caused the boiler fuel consumption increases, so that the generation cycle efficiency decreases. Therefore, it is necessary to do the re-design in order to obtain concessions HPH 3 designs with better performance. Re- design is analyzed with thermodynamics and heat transfer analysis. Data of HPH 3 used is according to operating conditions and the design data of HPH 3 PT. PJB UBJ O & M Unit 9 Paiton. The method used for the re-design is LMTD method (Log Mean Temperature Difference).
