Abstract

Teknologi otomotif mengalami perkembangan pesat beberapa tahun terakhir, begitu pula dari sektor mobil. Perkembangan teknologi tersebut juga diiringi dengan tingginya penjualan kendaraan di pasar otomotif global, tidak terkecuali Indonesia. Asean Automative Federation (AAF) mencatat produksi mobil Indonesia tahun 2014 mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 1,29 juta unit, meningkat 7,5 persen dari tahun sebelumnya dan terus mengalami peningkatan pada tahun 2015 sebesar 2 juta unit (Kemenprin, 1/16). Melihat tingginya tingkat produksi dan penjualan mobil di Indonesia, seharusnya pihak produsen mengimbanginya dengan upaya memberikan informasi detail mengenai mobil kepada konsumen, agar konsumen juga tercerdaskan, seperti yang sudah dilakukan di beberapa negara maju. Realitas yang terjadi di pasaran Indonesia, informasi yang diberikan oleh pihak produsen mengenai detail spesifikasi mobil, bahkan untuk tingkat SUV yang merupakan mobil kelas premium pun masih sangatlah terbatas. Kebanyakan brosur hanya menampilkan upgrade teknologi dan fitur tambahan terbaru yang mereka miliki. Jika hal ini terus berlanjut, maka selamanya masyarakat Indonesia hanya akan menjadi konsumen tanpa ada peningkatan pengetahuan mendetail mengenai karakteristik atau performa mesin mobil yang mereka beli. Hal tersebut yang mendasari penulis untuk melakukan analisa karakteristik traksi pada mobil Toyota fortuner 4.0 V6 SR (4X4 AT). ======================================================================================================== Automotive technology has developed rapidly for the last few decade, as well as from the automobile sector. Technological development of automobile was also accompanied by higher vehicle sales in the global automotive market, including Indonesia. ASEAN Automotive Federation (AAF) noted Indonesia's car production in 2014 increased as much as 1.29 million units, up 7.5 percent from the previous year and continued to increase in 2015 amounted to 2 million units (Kemenprin, 1/16). Given the high level of car production and sales in Indonesia, the producers should compensate by efforts to give detailed information about the car to consumers, so consumers also increase their knowledge and know their vehicle characteristic, as has been done in some developed countries. The reality happened in the Indonesian market, the information provided by the manufacturer regarding the detailed specifications of the car, even to the extent that SUV is a premiumclass car is still very limited. Most of the brochures show only upgrades and additional features the latest technology at their product. If this condition continues, Indonesian society will only become consumers without any increasing of knowledge about automotive characteristic of engine performance. Thus become the underlying authors to analyze the characteristics of the traction on the Toyota Fortuner 4.0 V6 SR (4X4 AT).
