Abstract

akhir ini banyak beredar berbagai macam produk suku cadang pin piston mulai dari produk original yang biasanya berharga mahal, hingga produk–produk non original yang harganya relatif lebih murah. Saat ini produk non original yang dijual dipasaran, harganya setengah kali lipat lebih murah dibandingkan dari harga produk originall. Kualitas produk non original memang perlu dipertanyakan, melihat perbedaan harga yang cukup besar ini. Sehingga perlu membandingkan kualitas dari sifat-sifat mekanis antara pin piston original dengan non original yang telah mengalami proses perlakuan panas dengan proses holding time 60 menit. Proses heat treatment dilakukan pada spesimen pin piston dilakukan pada suhu dibawah titik lebur yaitu 850oC dan ditahan selama 30 menit. Kemudian di quenching dengan air, dilanjutkan dengan proses tempering pada suhu 200oC, 400oC, 600oC dengan proses holding time selama 60 menit. Hasil dari pengujian didapatkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kekerasan dengan metode Rockwell pada spesimen yang tidak diberikan perlakuan panas pada suhu ruang 28°C yaitu sebesar 55 HRC untuk spesimen original dan 54 HRC untuk spesimen non original. Pin piston non original masing-masing memiliki kenaikan sebesar 7,4 %, 1,85% dan penurunan sebesar 11,11 % pada setiap proses tempering 200°C, 400°C dan 600°C. The prices of non original product is half most cheaper than original product. Quality of non original product most question, looking from different prices is realy so big. So we need comparison quality from mechanical properties between original piston pin with non original piston pin was have heat treatment process with holding time 60 minute. heat treatment process on specimen piston pin is doing under melting point it is 850oC and holding time 30 minute, quenching with water, and than doing tempering process with temperature 200oC, 400oC, 600oC with holding time 60 minute.. Result of test on specimen without heat treatment process with Rockwell hardness test in temperature 28°C get result hardness value it is 55 HRC for original specimen and 54 HRC for non original specimen. Non original piston pin specimen has increasing 7,4 %, 1,85% and decreasing 11,11 % on tempering process 200°C, 400°C and 600°C
