Abstract

Melihat hasil Student Formula Japan 2015, capaian dynamict event dari ITS team sapuangin sangatlah kurang. Pada dynamic event yang meliputi: acceleration, skidpad, autocross dan endurance ITS team Sapuangin hanya mengikuti 2 event. Catatan hasil waktu yang diperoleh juga sangatlah kurang, ratarata terpaut 7 second sampai 10 second dari para juara. Hal ini menunjukkan kurangnya kemampuan mobil untuk bermanuver. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah kinerja dari kendaraan dimana gaya dorong/traksi sebagai parameter. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan peningkatan karakteristik traksi pada mobil formula Sapuangin Speed 3 yang menggunakan mesin Husaberg 450 cc dengan 6 tingkat kecepatan. Langkah pertama harus mengetahui karakteristik mesin husaberg 450cc standard meliputi percepatan maksimum, kecepatan maksimum, spin area, kemudian dilakukan analisa untuk memilih parameter yang tepat. Setelah mendapatkan parameter, ditentukan rancangan peningkatan traksi kendaraan yaitu dengan cara merubah sprocket dengan variasi gigi sprocket 48, 52, 56 dan diameter velg serta perancangan rasio transmisi ulang menjadi 5 tingkat kecepatan, 6 tingkat dan 7 tingkat. Selain itu dilakukan juga analisa traksi saat belok yang berhubungan dengan pengaruh pemakaian Limitted Slip Differential (LSD) pada mobil sapuangin speed 3 terhadap radius belok lintasan.

Based on the results of the Japan Formula Student 2015 event dynamict performance of ITS sapuangin team is lacking. In dynamic event which include : acceleration, skidpad , autocross and endurance ITS team Sapuangin just follow the 2 event . Note the time the results obtained are also very less , on average, seven adrift of second to 10 second of the champions. This shows a lack of ability to maneuver the car . One of the factors that affect the performance of the vehicle which is the thrust / traction as a parameter. In this research, improvement of traction characteristics on formula cars Sapu Angin Speed 3 which uses Husaberg 450 cc engine with 6 speeds. The first step should know the characteristics of Husaberg 450 cc engine standards include maximum acceleration , maximum speed, spin area , then analyzed to choose the right parameters . After getting the parameters , determined the design of an increase in traction vehicles that is by changing the sprocket tooth with a variation of 48 , 52 , 56 and wheels diameter and re- design of the transmission ratio to be 5 levels of speed , level 6 and 7 levels . The researcher also analyzes traction when turning relating to the effect of the use of Limitted Slip Differential ( LSD ) on the car sapuangin speed 3 to the turning radius of the track
