Abstract
OK Mill FLSmidth 42-4 adalah mesin penggiling
material semen berupa clinker, gypsum dan trass. Penggilingan
semen pada mesin OK Mill FLSmidth 42-4 terjadi dengan cara
material semen digiling dengan roller di atas meja. Mesin
memiliki 4 roller yang berada di sisi meja untuk menggiling
material. Roller terpasang pada rocker arm. Rocker arm
terpasang pada Mill stand melalui poros. Pada ujung poros
dipasang baut pengikat untuk menjaga agar poros tidak bergerak
ke kanan dan ke kiri. Baut pengikat ini mengalami kerusakan
berupa patah sehingga posisi roller mill dapat berubah-ubah.
Penelitian ini dapat memberi penyelesaian yang tepat terhadap
kerusakan baut ini.
Dalam penelitian tugas akhir dilakukan analisa penyebab
kerusakan dengan metode RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis)
untuk mencari penyebab terjadinya kerusakan. Dilakukan
pengujian komposisi kimia dan pengujian kekerasan untuk
memastikan spesifikai material. Komposisi kimia memastikan
kelas dari material sedangkan kekerasan memastikan
kemampuan material menahan aus. Perhitungan dilakukan
terhadap gaya yang bekerja pada material baut untuk
mengetahui kuat atau tidaknya material dalam menahan beban.
Pengamatan juga dilakukan pada penampang patah untuk
membantu dalam mengidentifikasi jenis patahan..Berdasarkan hasil analisa dan data-data yang diperoleh.
Kegagalan terjadi karena baut dipasang menyalahi prosedur
FLSmidth yang berakibat kepada meningkatnya beban kompresi
yang diterima baut. Beban kompresi yang diterima belum
melewati yield point . tetapi beban kompresi ini menghasilkan
torsi yang tinggi yang menyebabkan terjadinya fatigue torsi. Nilai
kekerasan dari material ISO 5.6 adalah sebesar 79-95 HRB. Baut
yang patah hanya memiliki kekerasan sebesar 77,4 HRB, lebih
sedikit daripada standar material ISO 5.6 yaitu 79 – 95 HRB.
Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah dengan pemberian thrust
bearing pada ujung baut

42-4 FLSmidth OK Mill is grinding machine for cement
material such as clinker, gypsum and trass. The grinding on OK
MILLFLSmidth occurs by cement material was milled with a
roller on the table. The machine has four roller that is on the
table for grinding material. Roller mounted on a rocker arm. Mill
rocker arm mounted on the mill stand through the shaft. bolt
fastener mounted At the end of the shaft to keep the shaft from
moving to the right and to the left. This bolt damaged so that the
position of the roller mill can sway. This research will give a
proper solution for these bolts failure.
In this research it analyze the causes of damage with the
RCFA method (Root Cause Failure Analysis) to find the cause of
the damage. The chemical composition testing and hardness
testing is conducted to assure the material specification. The
chemical composition test is conducted to assure the property
class of material while the hardness test is conducted to test the
ability of material to resist wear. and calculation of the forces
acting on the bolt is necessary to determine the result that either
its able to withstand the load or not. Observations were also
performed on a broken cross-section to assist in identifying the
the failure category.Based on the analysis and the data obtained. The failure
occurred because of the procedure on mounting bolts violated the
origial FLSmidth procedures that result in the increase of the
compression load received by bolts. The load did not pass over
the yield point, but the compression load generate a high torque
which cause the occurance of fatigue failure. The broken bolt
only has the the hardness amounted to 77.4 HRB, a little under
the regulation of material ISO 5.6 which is 79 – 95 HRB. the
solution provided is the placement of thrust bearing on the end of
the bolt
