Abstract
Fabrikasi dan karakterisasi Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) berbasis
komposit TiO2/SnO2 telah berhasil dilakukan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk
mengoptimalkan proses transfer dan pemisahan muatan, serta mengurangi
rekombinasi prematur di dalam sel, sehingga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi
konversi serta stabilitas kinerja sel surya tersensitisasi dye. Dalam penelitian ini
digunakan tiga jenis semikonduktor sebagai elektroda kerja yaitu TiO2 murni,
komposit TiO2/SnO2 dan SnO2 murni, elektrolit gel berbasis polimer PEG dengan
BM 1000, lempeng karbon sebagai elektroda lawan (katoda), serta N-749 sebagai
Dye Sensitizer. Sumber cahaya lampu xenon dengan intensitas 100mW/cm2
digunakan untuk menguji performansi dari DSSC. Hasil pengukuran dan
perhitungan diperoleh bahwa DSSC berbasis elektroda komposit TiO2/SnO2
mempunyai kinerja yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan DSSC berbasis
elektroda TiO2 murni dan berbasis elektroda SnO2 murni, dengan nilai effisiensi
berturut-turut 0,041, 0,019 dan 0,0114%

Photoanode of dye-sensitized solar cells based on TiO2/SnO2 composite
has successfully been fabricated and characterized. The proposed study was to
optimize the process of transfer and charge separation to reduce premature
recombination in the cells thereby increasing the conversion efficiency and
stability of dye-sensitized solar cell performance. Three types of semiconductors
as the working electrode were used in this study, namely pure TiO2, TiO2/SnO2
composite and pure SnO2, polymer gel electrolyte based PEG 1000, carbon plate
as the counter electrode (cathode), and N-749 as a dye sensitizer. Xenon light
source with an intensity of 100 mW/cm2 is used to test the performance of the
DSSC. The results of measurements and calculations showed that the DSSC based
on the TiO2/SnO2 composite has better performance than the DSSC based on the
pure TiO2 and based on the pure SnO2, with the efficiency values were at 0.041,
0.019 and 0.0114%, respectively
