Abstract
Di lingkungan Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), SIAKAD dipakai untuk melakukan segala jenis kegiatan administrasi akademik kampus yang ada di lingkup ITS, akan tetapi pengguna SIAKAD merasa kesulitan dalam memakai sistem informasi yang ada karena sistem informasi masih belum memiliki desain yang dapat dipahami dengan mudah oleh pengguna.
Sebuah desain dari aplikasi yang baik, selain memiliki antarmuka yang bersifat eye catching dan mudah dipahami, juga harus bisa memenuhi semua kebutuhan penggunanya. Desain sistem yang baik diperlukan agar pengguna tidak merasa kesulitan dalam menggunakannya. Selain dari sisi tampilan, pada proses desain juga harus melihat dari sisi kebutuhan-kebutuhan yang memang dibutuhkan pengguna agar terhindar dari desain sistem yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan dari pengguna.
Pada penilitian ini, User Centered Design (UCD) dipakai untuk mendesain aplikasi web SIAKAD ITS. Tujuan dari penggunaan metode UCD di dalam penilitian ini adalah untuk mendesain aplikasi berbasis web yang memenuhi unsur dari usability dan menghasilkan desain yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dari pengguna.

Within the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technologi (ITS), SIAKAD is used to carry out all types of campus academic administration activities that are within the scope of ITS, but SIAKAD users find it difficult to use existing information systems because the information system still does not have a design that can be easily understood by user.
A good application design, besides having an eye catching and easy to understand interface, must also be able to meet all the needs of its users. A good system design is needed so that users do not feel difficulties in using it. Apart from the appearance, the design process must also look at the needs that are needed by the user to avoid the system design that is not in accordance with the needs of the user.
In this research, User Centered Design (UCD) is used to design SIAKAD ITS web applications. The purpose of using the UCD method in this research is to design a web-based application that meets the elements of usability and produces a design that suits the needs of the user.
