Abstract

======================================================================================================== Data transmission is important for solar energy station monitoring systems that works to send output from the sensor to the station. Location of the plant usually spread out makes it difficult to monitor the data of installed photovoltaic. Monitoring is generally done manually so the data are limited and not continuous. Therefore, this research using the Internet of Things system that combines a microcontroller and sensors used for the process of transmitting data by the sensor to the database. The purpose is: to find out the performance on the IoT-based data transmission system by using a wireless network and recommending an appropriate data transmission system for the solar energy station. The data transmission test results obtained packet loss, delay, throughput and jitter values of 0.804%, 193,653ms, 472,416 Bps and 0.037ms for plants with local servers and 0.348%, 68.818ms, 860,875 Bps and 0.009ms for local servers with internet servers. The results of this study shows that the application of the IoT system on the solar energy station can optimize the process of variable measurements realtime monitoring.
