Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan tentang implementasi renewable energy berkembang semakin pesat, khususnya penelitian tentang photovoltaic(PV) dan energy storage nya. Salah satu dari energiy storage adalah water pumped energy storage (WPES) yang mulai diteliti dalam pengaplikasian PLTS mandiri untuk menggantikan listrik berbahan bakar fosil. Sebelum dilaksanakannya instalasi WPES, perlu diteliti lagi tentangdilakukan proses sizing dari sistem PLTS mandiri menggunakan WPES dan kelayakan dari investasi terhadap program tersebut. Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang analisis sizing sistem PLTS mandiri menggunakan WPES dan aspek ekonominya. Analisis sizing akan dilaksanakan dengan rumus metode power balance, energy balance dan volume balance dari sistem dengan simulasi power balance dan volume balance dihitung perjamnya selama satu tahun. Sedangkan aspek ekonomi dari investasi nya akan membahas capital cost pemasangan sistem, O&M cost sistem, revenue energi listrik berdasarkan BPP PLTD, serta analisis investasi yang lebih mendalam seperti payback period, NPV, dan ROI. Berdasarkan data profil beban dan contoh profil output PLTS, untuk menyuplai beban dengan energi harian 79 kWh dan beban puncak 4.36 kW, dibutuhkan sizing PLTS sebesar 56.610 kWP, dengan kapasitas masing-masing reservoir 3800m^3, electric water pump 90kW, dan Generator 5kW. Dari analisis ekonomi sistem, didapatkan periode simple payback period sebesar 24,302 tahun, nilai net present value investasi sebesar IDR 2,072,823,731.86, dan nilai return of investment sebesar 105.7%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa investasi PLTS menggunakan WPES untuk beban kawasan pedesaan menguntungkan.

Research and development on the implementation of renewable energy is growing rapidly, especially research on PV (PV) and its energy storage. One type of energy storage is water pumped energy storage (WPES), which is currently being researched in terms of its application for standalone solar power plant to replace fossil energy electricity. Before the standalone solar power plant using WPES installation is carried out, it is necessary to do further research of the sizing of a standalone solar power plant using WPES and the feasibility of the programs investment. This research will discuss about the sizing analysis of standalone solar power plant using WPES and its economic aspect. The sizing analysis will be carried out by the method of power balance, energy balance and volume balance of the system, with the power balance and volume balance calculation, will be simulated hourly for a year. While the economic aspects of the program investment will discuss about the capital cost of system installation, O&M system cost, electricity energy revenue based on diesel power plant, and a deeper investment analysis such as payback period, NPV, and ROI. Based on load profile data and solar power plant output profile data, to supply load with daily energy of 79 kWh and peak load of 4.36 kW, the required sizing result is 56,610 kWp of solar power plant, with 3800 m³ water capacity for each, 90KW electric water pump, and 5kW Generator. From the economic analysis of the system, a simple payback period of 24,302 years was obtained, the net present value of the investment is IDR 2,072,823,731.86, and the return on investment was 105.7%. The conclusion is, investation of standalone solar power plant using WPES, is a profitable investation.
