Abstract

=======================================================
PT Gesits Technologies Indo is an Indonesia national company engaged in the automotive battery-electric motorcycle, Gesits. Distribution has been carried out since December 2019. Unfortunately, the customer demand purchases are not balanced in the distribution process. To supply the central and east Java, shipping units are still carried out centrally from the factories which causes the high transportation cost. It is caused by the lack number of distribution center facilities, so the management plans to open the distribution center facility between the location candidates in Semarang or Surabaya. To determine the location, complex considerations are required by considering calculation and criteria. The author using a quantitative method through the Brown-Gibson model because it can integrate the objective and subjective factors well. The objective factor inputs using 3 years (2021-2023) company projections then processed using a transportation model so that the alternative candidate with the lowest cost is obtained. Furthermore, the number of unit allocation from the factory to market is obtained. While the subjective factor input is done by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) through identifications, verification of criterias, and questionnaires by the decision-makers in PT Gesits Technologies Indo. After that, sensitivity analysis is carried out to find out how much to influence the two factors have on determining the distribution center location selection. The result showed the first LMPi rank fell to Surabaya with a value of 0.539, followed by Semarang (0.461). Transportation cost in 2021 compared to the initial location decreased by 29.4%. Proves that by opening the distribution center, the transportation cost can be reduced linear with the subjective factor criteria considered in determining location selection.
