Abstract
Secara teoritis mengubah posisi badan kapal dari horisontal menjadi vertikal akan mengurangi panjang garis air dan dapat meningkatkan performa sekeeping. R/P FLIP (Research Platform, Floating Instrument Platform) adalah kapal penelitian yang unik. Kapal ini awalnya digunakan untuk penelitian akustik bawah laut untuk bidang kemiliteran namun kemudian berkembang ke bidang pengumpulan data meteorologi, geofisika, physical oceanograpy serta penelitian flora dan fauna laut. Kapal ini dirancang seperti sendok dan unik dalam arti bahwa kapal ini memiliki kemampun untuk berdiri secara vertikal dari posisi kapal biasanya yaitu horizontal. Dalam penelitian ini akan didesain kapal flip yang mampu beroperasi selama 45 hari dilautan Indonesia dan memiliki penggerak sendiri agar dapat melakukan penjelajahan secara mandiri. Desain diawali dengan merancang layouat awal kapal untuk mendapatkan ukuran utama kapal yaitu panjang 135 meter, lebar 11 meter, sarat kapal 4 meter dan kecepatan operasi kapal 8 knot. Layout kapal disesuaikan dengan minimum requirement terkait luasan ruangan, peralatan di atas kapal, serta displacement kapal. Kemudian dilakukan perhitungan teknis yang meliputi koefisien bentuk kapal dimana didapatkan koefisien blok kapal sebesar 0.515, hambatan kapal pada kecepatan dinas sebesar 56.5 kN. Poin penting yang lain yaitu penentuan sistem propulsi yang digunakan, dimana pada desain ini digunakan retractable thruster dengan daya mesin sebesar 1250 kW dan tunnel thruster dengan daya mesin 671 kW digunakan sebagai alat penggerak. Perancangan rencana garis dan rencana umum juga dilakukan guna mendapatkan gambaran mengenai bentuk kapal dan susunan ruangan yang ada dikapal, yang tidak kalah penting yaitu mengetahui peletakan tangki ballast yang ada dikapal. Kemudian ilustrasi akan diperjelas dengan penambahan desain tiga dimensi. Dari desain pada penelitian ini didapatkan ukuran utama kapal yaitu panjang kapal sebesar 135 meter, dengan displacement sebesar 3015 ton, dan kemampuan flip dengan draft maksimum pada kondisi vertikal sebesar 100 meter. Diharapkan desain yang didapat dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi dalam merencanakan kapal flip yang dapat dioperasikan di lautan Indonesia.

Theoretically changing the position of the hull from horizontal to vertical will reduce the length of the waterline and can improve the performance of the vessel. This ship was originally used for underwater acoustic research for the military field. After it later developed into other fields ranging from meteorological data, geophysics, physical oceans as well as marine flora and fauna research. This ship is designed like a spoon and is unique in the sense that this ship has the ability to stand vertically from the position of the ship which is usually horizontal. In this research, a flip ship will be designed that can operate for 45 days in Indonesian sea and has its own propulsion in order to be able to explore independently. The design begins by designing the initial layout of the ship to get the main dimension of the ship, which is 135 meters long, 11 meters wide, 4 meters laden and the ship operating speed is 8 knots. The ship layout is adjusted to the minimum requirements related to space area, equipment onboard, and ship displacement. Then technical calculations include the shape coefficient of the ship where the coefficient of the ship block is 0.515, resistance ships at official speed of 56.5 kN. Another important point is the determination of the propulsion system used, in which in this design a retractable thruster with engine power of 1250 kW and tunnel thruster with engine power of 671 kW is used as a propulsion. The design of line plans and general arrangements are also carried out in order to get a picture of the shape of the ship and the arrangement of the existing space in the ship, which is no less important is knowing the placement of the ballast tank in the ship. Then described will be clarified with a three-dimensional design. From the design in this study, the main dimension of the ship was found to be a ship length of 135 meters, a displacement of 3015 tons, and the ability to flip with a maximum design draught in vertical conditions is 100 meters. It is hoped that the design obtained from this study can be a reference on ships that can be operated in the Indonesian seas.
