Abstract

Pemerintah Kota Surabaya telah merencanakan moda transportasi umum massal berbasis rel yaitu kereta monorel yang dinilai dapat mengurangi jumlah pengguna kendaraan pribadi di kota. Transportasi monorel direncanakan akan menghubungkan seluruh pusat perdagangan, pendidikan, dan industri pada koridor Timur-Barat. Sistem transportasi monorel, akan dilengkapi dengan 22 fasilitas stasiun pemberhentian yang tersebar di berbagai titik.
Beberapa rancangan fasilitas publik seperti stasiun di kota besar, masih kurang memadai sehingga penumpang merasa kurang nyaman dan desain stasiun yang relatif sama kurang menunjukkan informasi tentang kawasan sehingga fungsi sebagai penanda kawasan menjadi kurang.
Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, diusulkan suatu konsep rancangan stasiun monorel yang dapat membuat pengguna merasa betah dan mendapat wawasan edukasi mengenai kawasan. Rancangan ini dikhususkan pada rencana stasiun di koridor Timur yang berlokasi di jalan Raya ITS. Pemilihan objek tersebut didasari atas permasalahan dan potensi kawasan yang menarik untuk dibahas.
Dalam merancang stasiun monorel dilakukan dengan pendekatan Sense of Place kawasan Surabaya Timur yaitu kawasan rawa. Pemilihan ini berdasarkan data perkembangan peta Surabaya Timur yang diwujudkan dengan cara memerhatikan elemen-elemen pembentuk kawasan rawa. Hasil rancangan ini adalah desain stasiun yang memenuhi kenyamanan fasilitas pengguna monorel dan dapat memberi kesan dan pesan informasi mengenai kawasan Surabaya Timur.

The Surabaya City Government has planned a rail-based mass public transportation mode, which is a monorail train which is considered to be able to reduce the number of private vehicle users in the city. Monorail transportation is planned to connect all trade, education and industrial centers in the East-West corridor. The monorail transportation system, will be equipped with 22 station stop facilities scattered at various points.
Some designs of public facilities, such as stations in big cities, are still inadequate so that passengers feel uncomfortable and relatively similar design of stations shows less information about the area so that the function as an area marker is lacking.
Based on these problems, a monorail station design concept is proposed that can make users feel at home and get educational insight into the area. This design is devoted to the station plan in the East corridor which is located on the ITS highway. The selection of objects is based on problems and potential areas of interest to discuss.
In designing a monorail station, the Sense of Place approach to the East Surabaya area is used, namely the swamp area. The selection is based on data on the development of the East Surabaya map which was realized by looking at the elements forming swamp areas. The result of this design is a station design that meets the convenience of monorail user facilities and can give an impression and an information message about the East Surabaya area.
