Abstract
Berkembangnya Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) menjadi hal yang sangat penting saat ini. Salah satu bentuk perkembangannya adalah implementasi website di segala bidang yang meliputi bidang pemerintahan, perbankan, dan pendidikan. Pada bidang pendidikan, website dimanfaatkan sebuah lembaga akademik sebagai sarana utama menyebarkan informasi terkait kampusnya. Website resmi dari sebuah universitas merupakan portal penyambung antara pihak internal universitas dengan pihak luar yaitu masyarakat. Segala kebutuhan informasi yang diinginkan dari pihak luar dapat diakses dengan mudah melalui website resmi universitas. Pihak universitas membuat agar websitenya dapat dengan mudah digunakan dan memberikan informasi yang lengkap. Kemudahan penggunaan dan informasi yang lengkap dapat menjadi penentu baik buruknya kualitas dari sebuah website universitas. Sehingga website universitas haruslah memenuhi standar kualitas yang diperlukan untuk membuat penggunanya merasa nyaman dan tertarik mengunjunginya.
Agar memenuhi standar website universitas yang berkualitas, diperlukan pengujian. Untuk mengujinya, kemudahan penggunaan (usability) merupakan aspek kualitas website yang sangat penting untuk diuji menurut banyak penelitian termasuk Nielsen. Kemudahaan penggunaan (usability) adalah suatu tolok ukur sebuah kualitas yang mengkaji serta mengukur seberapa mudah tampilan (interface) digunakan oleh pengguna. Selain dari aspek kemudahan penggunaan (usability), aspek lainnya yang erat dengan kualitas dari suatu website adalah informasi yang terdapat didalamnya. Pengguna mengunjungi website tentu memiliki maksud tertentu yaitu mendapatkan informasi yang dibutuhkan. Sehingga website harus mampu memenuhi kebutuhan informasi dari penggunanya. Begitu pula dengan website ITS Surabaya yang menjadi salah satu media utama penyaluran informasi kepada pihak luar. Website ITS membagi informasinya sesuai jenis sasaran pengguna yaitu mahasiswa, calon mahasiswa, orang tua, alumni, dosen dan tenaga kependidikan. Pembagian informasi berdasarkan pengguna akan memudahkan pengguna memilih menu sesuai dengan kebutuhan informasi yang diperlukan. Salah satu menu yang memuat informasi berdasarkan jenis penggunanya adalah fitur prospective student. Fitur tersebut berguna untuk memberikan segala informasi yang berkaitan dengan kebutuhan calon mahasiswa. Fitur prospective student diharapkan memudahkan calon mahasiswa dalam penggunaanya dan dalam mencari kebutuhan informasi yang diperlukan. Untuk mencapai harapan tersebut, fitur prospective student perlu melihat kualitas pada aspek kegunaan (usablity) dan konten (content).
Oleh karena itu, ¬hasil penelitian ini adalah menunjukkan kondisi kualitas fitur prospective student berupa menampilkan karakteristik apa saja yang mendukung dan bertentangan untuk mencapai kualitas dari faktor kegunaan (usability) dan konten (content). Serta pemberian saran perbaikan untuk karakteristik pada faktor kualitas kegunaan dan konten yang masih menemukan kendala atau bertentangan untuk mendukung kualitas fitur prospective student.

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is very important at this time. The example of its development is the implementation of websites in all fields including government, banking and education. In education, the website is used by an academic institution as the main means of disseminating information relaten to its campus. The website of university is a portal to connect between the internal parties of the university with external parties, namely public society. All information desired from public society can be accessed easily through the official website of the university. The university makes its website easy to use and provides complete information. Ease of use and complete information can be a determinant of the quality of a university website. So the university’s website must meet the quality standards needed to make its users feels comfortable and interested in visiting it.
In order to meet quality university website standard, testing is rquired. To test it, ease of use (usability) is a very important aspect of website quality to be tested according to many studies including research conducted by Nielsen. The ease of use (usability) is a benchmark of quality that examines and measures how easily the interface is used by users. Apart from the usability aspect, another aspect closely related to the quality of website is the information contained inside it. Users visiting the website certainly have a specific purpose of getting the information needed. So the website must be able to meet the information needs of its users. Likewise with the ITS Surabaya website which is one of the main media for channeling information to public. ITS Website divides its information according to the type of target users, namely student, prospective student, parents, alumni, lecturers and education staff. Information that is divided by user will make it easier for users to choose the menu according to information needed. One of the menus that contains information based on the type of user is prospective student feature. This feature is useful to provide all information relating to the needs of prospective students. Prospective student features are expected to facilitate prospective students in their use and in findig the required information needs. To achieve this expectation, prospective student features need to look at quality in terms of usability and content.
Therefore, the results of this study are to indicate the quality conditions of prospective student features in the form of displaying any supporting and contradictory characteristics to achieve the quality of usability and content factors.
