Abstract

The complexity of product distribution will be even higher along with the increase in marketing distribution network. Inadequate distribution system will cause supply chain costs to be higher. The cost of cement distribution costs in the PT. X. accounted for nearly 14% of the Company's Principal Expenses, which became the concern of PT. X because cement is a commodity that has a small margin with a large volume. This study aims to create a distribution optimization model at PT. X which is engaged in the cement industry. Regarding the limitations of this study in the area of distribution and marketing of cement and bulk products in Java and Bali. As a mode of transportation for the distribution system is a mode of ships and trucks taking into account the transhipment factor. System optimization model. Using linear programming. The expectation of this research is to produce optimal supply chain costs and provide some improvement in the distribution system of cement delivery for the marketing areas of Java and Bali. The distribution system optimization model results are expected to be accessible for PT. X in allocating an optimal distribution of cement to increase the cost of existing supply chains, optimize the production utilization of supply facilities, and reduce the burden on the company and increase company profitability. As for the potential reduction in optimal supply chain costs in February, August and October 2019, each was around Rp.44.6 Billion, Rp.46.4 Billion, and Rp.49.9 Billion or around 5.2% of the existing supply chain costs.
