Abstract

Every company in doing business expansion, especially business outside the core business of the previous business field, generally requires sufficient funding sources to ensure that the expansion goes as expected. Funding according to needs is often a quite difficult problem especially when faced with choices that have a significant cost impact. The case at PT A, was faced with 3 choices of funding sources to support expansion into the building materials business, namely loans from banks, issuance of bonds and selling the proportion of shares of one of the 8 factories whose capacity was not absorbed by Indonesia's domestic sales targets to strategic partners. This study discusses the third alternative funding by calculating the production allocation of 8 factories whose distribution costs are optimal in meeting the domestic sales volume target by using the linear programming method and then comparing the remaining plant capacity that is not absorbed by the capacity requirements of PT A's Enterprise value conversion. The solution to the third alternative funding option will be a proposal for PT A in order to support the Vision to enter the regional building materials business. The calculation and optimization results show that the SBI Tuban factory can be sold in proportion to its strategic partners with a proportion of 48.82% with the aim of obtaining funding of 3.8 trillion Rupiah without reducing the sustainability and effectiveness in the previous core business.
